Doctor Who Logo and Latest Spoilers
Even though it's all been gone over elsewhere, I'm feeling the need to ramble a bit about the new logo and the latest spoilers.
First of all, the new logo. I'm basically neutral about it. It's a logo and does what it is supposed to. It's neither awesome nor horrible and most of my 'Huh? What's that?' reaction is due to it being very different from the previous logo (which was also neither awesome nor horrible, just currently familiar). It's rather retro in a clean, polished sort of way, and I like that the TARDIS is incorporated into the design. One thing that puzzles me is the 'Oh, now it's completely a kid's show!' reaction that I've seen in various places. *scratches head* What is it about the logo that says KIDS? Because I'm not seeing it. Looking over the previous logos, it's not as good as Four's (my favorite) but miles better than Seven's (ow! my eyes!). :D
As for the latest spoiler picture and info, I'm happy that I waited for some information about it and didn't just post based on the picture. While Karen Gillan has very nice legs and I can see why her general costume is going to consist of very short skirts, the whole uniform with a very short skirt idea was annoying me. Knowing that it is not a uniform, but dress-up, I feel better about it all. This jumping to conclusions is one reason why I don't usually like spoilers for shows I love. It's hard to stay objective and all too easy to get upset based on scraps. (A fun pastime in Buffy fandom...only not.)
Another reason I'm not fond of spoilers is that I wasn't ready to see that picture! *sob* I've accepted - mostly - that Ten is leaving and I'm looking forward to seeing what Eleven can do, but seeing him in Ten's clothes is very much Do Not Want. I had read that the suit was destroyed but seeing it is a whole new level. And seeing the suit and tie all wrecked fills me with dread for what RTD is going to put us through for the last episode.
