Updates
Seeing as how I've been pretty anti-social as of late (not sure why exactly, probably a combonation of busyness and my mom being back)... But in any case, here's an update of what's been going on with me.
Work:
I was offered a promotion to Patent Paralegal, which I turned down. It would be too boring for me, I wouldn't get the variety of experience I want, and I really like the lawyers I am working with right now.
I'm on the firm's social committee planning our Christm... I mean, Holiday Party. Its going to be sooooooo awesome! I can't wait!
School:
Yes, I know I graduated. But I won an award! The awards ceremony was on Tuesday, and I got a nice certificate, a award thing thats now on my desk at work, and a nice cheque ;) I still haven't decided to do with the money. I originally planned to use it to buy a new mattress... but now I'm thinking I might use it to take that Japanese class in January I've been putting off (keeping with the education and furthering my career theme). Plus, at the awards ceremony, the donor who sponsored my award (and who happens to be the HR director at the Good Firm I did my co-op at), expressly told me that she wants me back, and even to think about a position as a trainer in their IP department once I've got some more experince. How awesome is that?!
Family:
Blah. My mom went back to Jamaica, again. I was not impressed.
My sister moved in with her in-laws in Barrie. And, my brother is now literally living in a trailer in a car impound lot. Seriously.
Love:
What's that? Hmmm... I've got a couple men trying to get into my pants right now. One I think is too old and too far. Another is moving much too fast for my likings... And the last one... well, considering past drama, I'm not sure where my trust level is right now. We shall see.
Add to that my "online girlfriend" is coming to visit in February or March for a week!!!!! I'm sure everyone will love her :) Her name is Sato. She's a Japanese girl currently living in Las Vegas. And she's a lesbian ;) I've been talking to her for almost a year now!
Apartment:
I've decided not to move... for now. As much as I like moving, I'm kind of comfortable here. My landlady has agreed to announce her presense in my apartment in advance, and I'll just have to live without a bathtub for awhile.
Vacation:
I'm staying home for a much needed break during my vacation from November 28 - December 6. If anyone would like to do something low-key during this time, please let me know (tho I'm going to my sisters in Barrie on that weekend.)
I'm taking another vacation from December 29 - January 7, going to see my grandparents in Florida. My mom will be there for a couple days of my visit, too.
Shopping:
Things I bought on eBay - Big Love Season 1 ($35.00 US), imitation Cartier Love Bracelet ($20), Big Love poster ($3.99 US), autographed photo of Margene in her undies ($1.13).... I love eBay. I also got two prints of impressionistic Toronto cityscapes at the St. Lawrence market antiques market ($6 each).... and all my Christmas decorations!
