volodya has taken to sitting next to me when I'm on the computer and just looking at me and meowing one big long meow. weird cat.
I have a new roommate moving in today/this weekend. her name is Lisa and she's french and great. and she got mike's enthusiastic seal of approval, so that's heartening. in fact, mike's throwing her a welcome to the apartment party here tonight (nevermind the fact that he doesn't live here, but I guess he does have keys).
so this semester: 3 classes, 3 crazy old men as professors, 1 linguistics minor. grammatical analysis (syntax), languages in contact, and writing systems of the world. should be fun. there's a guy that's in all of my classes who I should probably be friendly with since we're going to be spending so much time together. he seems alright, a little bit of a misfit, but probably a better person for it.
anyway, also, I'm graduating in may and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. my lease is up june 30th so after that I'm probably going to move back to austin for a bit. maybe do grad school there. I need to study for the GRE. so if anyone has anything in the way of awesome job opportunities that they want to give me, feel free. I have no restaurant industry experience. except a lot of patronage. so we'll see.
