"I don't know," he said, cocking his head to the side. "I think people are a lot more interested in Batman than this guy." He shrugged a little. "How do you know the guy really exists?"

"Like I said, the media hasn't been giving him the attention he deserves." Chloe paused for a second, deciding if she should tell him about seeing him just to prove her point, but she just shrugged, "I have my sources."

"Must be pretty good sources if it convinced you to move across the country," he said mildly, searching her eyes.

They were now, she thought, but instead of saying anything, she just smirked and sipped on her wine once more, it was really good, besides, it kept her from talking too much.

"But enough about me, why don't we talk about you for a change? Like, what were you doing at that bar on Saturday?"

He was mildy surprised by the change of topic, but he let it go. "Just having a drink with some of my employees actually," he told her with a slight shrug. "It was one of their birthdays."

She was surprised at his answer, her eyebrows raising a little, "really? I've never heard of a CEO doing that before." Of course, for how powerful the man next to her was, he did keep a very relaxed and approachable composure.

"I like my employees," he told her with a small grin, shrugging. "Plus I think it's important to keep the lines of communication open if you're going to run a successful business." He studied her again.

"You have very pretty eyes, Chloe."

Also, did she mention he was pretty intense? The way he kept looking at her, not that she was intimidated by it, at all, but it was interesting. And of course, competitive as she was, she held his gaze every time.

"Thank you," she smiled, "and I'm sure you have nothing to worry about your business, Oliver, last I heard, you were tied with Bruce Wayne, losing only to Lex Luthor in the list of most successful businessmen in the country."

That made him grimace. He picked up his wine glass and took a drink, shrugging and falling silent for a moment at the thought of Lex Luthor. He set his glass down once more.

"Do you know what you'd like to order?" he asked, nodding slightly at their menus.

At the look on his face, she paused, frowning and keeping her eyes on his face, "what did I say?" Not what she had said wrong, but what she had said to finally get a reaction from him when she wasn't even trying to.

He glanced at her for a moment. "Ah, nothing to worry about. Lex Luthor and I don't exactly have a stellar past," he explained. "We went to boarding school together when we were younger." He shrugged a little.

"You did?" She definitely had to look into that, "don't tell me he bullied you?" Because as much as she admired Lex Luthor's business skills, she knew the man could be ruthless.

At that, Oliver ducked his head a little. "No," he said quietly. "The other way around actually."

"Oh," she raised her eyebrows curiously as she regarded him, he did seem to feel awfully guilty about whatever it was he did to Lex, but she really couldn't see the man next to her being mean to anyone, let alone Lex Luthor, "well, don't kick yourself over it, he is the one making the most money now."

A short chuckle escaped him at her words and he looked up at her with a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Must be karma."

"Looks like you ranked up some good karma some other way, then," she smiled at him, shrugging a shoulder.
