A grin tugged at his lips despite the fact that he was being completely serious when he said nothing would happen to her under his watch. "Our egos and our pride sometimes make simple things difficult," he said, leaning in and dropping his voice like he wes letting her in on a very important secret. He winked at her, amused by her attitude toward the whole subject.

He dropped a hand to rest on her shoulder. "But you should know I was serious about the other part."

Chloe looked at him for a long moment then nodded, cocking her head a little, "I wouldn't have joined the team if I didn't trust you, Oliver." She said sincerely, "and although I appreciate being watched over, don't be like Clark, I'm not completely helpless." She teased lightly.

He smirked a little. "Trust me. I know you're not, Sidekick. If I thought you were, I wouldn't have asked you to join the team in the first place." He shrugged a little. "And believe me, I'm nothing like Clark."

With a nod, she raised her eyebrows at him again, "I'm glad we agree on that." She didn't clarify which part of it exactly she agreed with. "You ready for dinner?"

"I am if you are." He smiled, relaxing a little and offering her his arm.

She looked around for a second and picked up her purse before walking over to him and taking his arm, nodding, "okay, lets go."

Oliver smiled at her and opened the door. "You'll have to tell me where this place is. Have you ever eaten at Pastabilities in Metropolis?"

She walked with him outside, locking up after them and looking down at the Talon, which was slightly busy, apparently football practice had just ended considering the amount of jocks and cheerleaders hanging around. Some things, you just never missed.

Looking back at him, she shook her head, "It's only a block away, this is Smallville afterall," she said with a grin as they started down the stairs, "but no, I've never been, is it good?"

"It's fantastic," he told her. "I'm taking you there soon. If you like Italian, you'll love the place." He didn't even notice the surprised looks from the Talon-goers as the two of them headed out the door.

Raising her eyebrows, she nodded, "I love Italian, the only thing I like better than Italian are burgers, fries and milkshakes." She grinned, walking with him out the door and towards the restaurant, "yes, I know I sound like a five year old."

He chuckled lightly. "I can't tell you the last time I had a milkshake," he admitted with a shrug.

With a mock gasp, Chloe looked up at him, eyes wide, "we're having a milkshake on our way back, I don't care how full we are." She told him firmly.

He arched an eyebrow at her. "Is there a McDonald's around here that I don't know about?" he teased. "Or is there another hidden Smallville gem?" He smiled.

Chloe laughed and shook her head, "McDonalds? I leave above the Talon, why would you need McDonalds? Besides, if that's your idea of milkshake, I feel sorry for you." She teased.

He chuckled, letting her lead him down the sidewalk and then into the lobby of the restaurant. "Like I said, I haven't had a milkshake in years." He shrugged and smiled at the hostess as she led them to a table and gave them each a menu before heading away to get their drinks.
