Not long after Chloe walked into the Planet that morning, she was already rushing out. She was just going through her morning routine, sipping on her coffee and reading the usual papers, when she saw the headline: Green Arrow injured during rescue on one of the local Star City papers

He shut his eyes, his back to her, growing still and silent.

Her face fell and she rubbed her hands over her face tiredly, her eyes heavy, "I should call Bart," she whispered, pulling her phone from her pocket, she could sleep when she got back.

"No." There was alarm in his voice as he turned to look at her.

Chloe looked up at him, her eyes teary. She was too tired, she couldn't control her emotions like she normally would have been able to, "I don't want you to be uncomfortable and I'm sorry I lied, but this stupid ability has to be good for something." She didn't know if she was making sense, but it made sense to her.

He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "I'm not uncomfortable. I'm just slightly terrified I'm going to watch you die again." He swallowed hard.

Her chest tightened at his words and she shook her head, closing her eyes for a second, "you won't, I'm okay," she assured him, "your wound wasn't bad, I'm just tired but I'll be okay."

He was silent for a long moment, keeping his eyes on her. "Chloe." His voice was barely audible.

Chloe swallowed hard and looked up at him, doing her best to keep her eyes open and to keep sitting up, "I promise I'm okay," she whispered quietly.

"Rest," he whispered, hesitantly sitting down on the edge of the bed. He reached out and slid his arm around her, pressing a kiss to her temple.

Chloe pursed her lips together and pulled back enough to look at him for a second then shifted closer and wrapped her arms around him, her eyes getting teary again and she finally allowed them to close.

She was so afraid he wouldn't want to talk to her again because she had broken her promise, but she had to help him, and she knew he was scared of what it could do to her, but she knew she would have been okay.

He shifted so he was lying down beside her on the bed, keeping her close as she shut her eyes. He kissed her forehead, growing still and silent so he could listen to her breathing just to make sure she still was.

Chloe sighed deeply and relaxed slightly when he laid down with her. She didn't want him to leave, and she wasn't sure how much longer she was going to manage to stay awake for.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled tiredly, curling up against his side and falling asleep moments later.
