Chloe still couldn't believe the woman had agreed to rent her this apartment for the amount she was willing to pay. And she knew she would never have gotten it, especially not right away, without credit check or anything if it hadn't been for Oliver being there with her

Oliver sighed softly and rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. "There's probably an emergency opening in the ceiling." He stood up once more, lifting his arms up and searching for a latch in the ceiling panels.

Chloe stood up quickly and looked up at the ceiling, squinting and trying to see any sign of openings, but she couldn't see anything since she was so far from it, at least Oliver was much taller, "any luck?"

"Not really. Although I'm pretty sure I just found someone's old gum," he grumbled, wiping his hands on his pants and making a face.

She made a face and reached inside her purse, pulling out a package of wipes, "here, they are to remove make up, but it's better than old gum."

"Thanks." He took the package from her and washed his hands off, sighing softly. "I think we're stuck."

She took a deep breath and rubbed her face after dropping her purse to the ground. "Great."

He leaned back against the wall. "Great," he echoed almost inaudibly.

Chloe glanced over at him and swallowed, pursing her lips together. A few weeks back, this wouldn't have been an issue, they would have just kept each other entertained while they were stuck in there.

He sighed softly, closing his eyes for a moment. "So how are things going at the Planet?" he asked.

[chloeas]

"They are okay," she shrugged a little, making a face, "how are things ate Queen Industries?"

[dl_greenarrow]

He drew in a breath. "Same stuff, different day." He rubbed a hand over his face.

Chloe nodded a little and took a deep breath, looking down at her lap, "I'm glad you came to see me."

"Well, we did get you a better place. And I'm choosing to believe this storm is coincidental and not some weird sign of some kind." He smiled a bit, glad for the darkness that hid the fact that the smile wasn't real. She wasn't glad he'd come to see her and he knew it.

"What kind of sign could it be?" She asked without thinking about it. Shewas, actually happy that he was there, as uncomfortable as things were, he had become one of her closest friends in the past few months and despite the whole sex and feelings thing, she still cared a lot about him and she missed him a lot more than she was willing to admit.
