Chloe still couldn't believe the woman had agreed to rent her this apartment for the amount she was willing to pay. And she knew she would never have gotten it, especially not right away, without credit check or anything if it hadn't been for Oliver being there with her

Her face fell and she looked down then back at him, she figured he at least deserved an honest answer to that question, "I wasn't, I pretended."

Oliver watched her for a moment, his chest tightening at her admission. "Oh."

Pursing her lips together, she watched him for a long moment, "but if that's not what you're doing, then... that's a good thing."

He met her gaze and held it. "Like I said before, I want us to be friends. I'd rather have you in my life as a friend than not in my life at all," he told her quietly.

She held his gaze for a second and nodded a little, she really wanted to tell him the truth and why she was doing this, but she couldn't, it would only make things harder, "I appreciate it."

Oliver studied her for a moment, then moved over so he was standing in front of her. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "So I'll leave it up to you. If you want my help moving, I'd be glad to offer my assistance. If you'd rather have Clark help you..." He paused. "It's your choice."

She studied him back for a full moment and tried for a smile, "you are welcome to help if you're available." She told him finally, it didn't feel right to shut him out considering how much effort he was putting in letting her back in. Even if this made things a lot harder.

Despite her attempt at a smile, he saw right through it. She didn't want him there. He made her uncomfortable. Fortunately his poker face was a little better than hers. He nodded a little. "All right. Tomorrow then?"

"Yeah, definitely, I can't wait to move," she told him, her smile a little more sincere.

"I bet. Although if you asked Bart, we could probably have you moved tonight." He gazed at her with a raised eyebrow.

She paused at that, raising her eyebrows and watching him, "he's not working on anything?"

"I don't know," he admitted. "Nothing League wise as far as I know."

"Maybe I should give him a call, I'm sure he'll let me pay him in pizza," she said quietly, smiling softly.

"I'm sure he would, too. And he'd probably like to see you." He smiled faintly.

Chloe nodded slightly and pulled out her phone, "I guess I can have him meet us at the old apartment in half an hour or so..."
