Chloe sighed, annoyed as she pushed a box out of the way to get to the pile of boxes behind it, she had refused to unpack, even if she had been at that place for almost three weeks now. She was moving as soon as her six month contract was up because she hated it

He declined the offer with a slight shake of his head. "It might not have been the goal, but it would have been a pretty big consequence." He was quiet for a moment. "I get it, Chloe. I know that this ability has screwed up your life. And I know you're scared. But sometimes...better the devil you know than the one you don't, you know?"

Sighing deeply, she rubbed her hands over her face, then looking down at her lap, "when I thought there really was such thing as making me normal again and I didn't know he was just another psycho, that consequence was something I was willing to live with."

He watched her for a moment. "He was working for Lex," he said softly. "I'm guessing you didn't know that."

"Not until after everything," she told him, pursing her lips together. If it wasn't for him, she would have ended up like Sasha, dumped in a river somewhere.

Oliver kept his gaze on her and nodded slowly. "I need you to be careful, Chloe." His voice was almost inaudible. "More careful than you have been."

"Don't worry," she pursed her lips together and looked over at him once more, "I'm done trying to get rid of it. Nearly having my heart ripped out put things into perspective."

"I don't just mean with your power." He held her gaze for a moment, then slowly pushed himself away from the wall, moving hesitantly toward the bed to sit beside her. "I mean with everything."

She frowned a little and followed him with her gaze, watching as he sat down next to her, "such as?"

"Everything involving your safety." He glanced at her sideways. "Look, Chloe. I hate the way we left things," he admitted. "And I'm sorry if I've hurt you. It was never my intention."

Chloe frowned even more at his words and shook her head, taking a deep breath, "I hate it too, Oliver, but I don't blame you for anything."

Even if he had been the one to break the rules and fall for her, clearly, he didn't really understand everything before walking into it and it was her own fault she wasn't going to allow anything to go past sex, any other girl would have considered that a dream come true.
