After she dropped Mia off at the school, Chloe made her way to Blockbuster, as promised. She had picked out a variety of movies, including a Bruce Lee one for Ollie and Mia to watch together once they had time. The clerk had assured her it was the best one and by the way he went on and on about it, Chloe believed him. She was almost sorry she asked

"I still don't see why I couldn't have met the kid." He frowned and set her plate in front of him. "I'm not really that scary, am I?"

Chloe couldn't help but grin at him, shaking her head a little, "she's only going to a dance, Ollie, it's not like she's marrying the guy," she pointed out, "I'm sure if it turns into something more serious, she will want your input."

He sighed. "I know, I know. Still." He sat down across from her, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "She looked happy."

"Yeah, she did," Chloe agreed, smiling at him, "it's nice to see her being a normal high school girl."

She paused and grinned at him, "good job on the jewelry, by the way, she really liked it."

His smile widened a little. "Thanks for letting me know what dress she'd picked." That detail had made picking out the necklace and earrings much easier. He reached across the table and covered one of her hands with his own.

She turned her hand in his and squeezed his hand gently then smiled, nodding, "no problem, I'm glad it helped."

He held her gaze for a long moment. "Well. I may have gotten something for you too." He set a small velvet box on the table in front of her.

Chloe raised her eyebrows and looked down at the small box, looking at him surprised as she picked it up, "you didn't have to get me anything, Ollie..."

"I know I didn't have to." His voice was quiet. "I wanted to."

"Thank you," she told him, squeezing his hand before letting go to open the box, her eyes widening a little as she saw the necklace.

"Oh..." she picked it up, off of the box then looked over at him, "Ollie, it's gorgeous."

Oliver smiled. "And it matches your jacket," he said.

She smiled back at him and stood up, walking around the table and cupping his cheek before leaning down and pressing a kiss to his lips, "yes it does, thank you."
