Lois had left for Smallville to grab some things so she could stay in the Watchtower until this was over. "I know," she whispered, closing her eyes tightly and hugging him as closely as she could, "I-" she paused, holding her breath and opening her mouth to tell him she felt the same, but the words didn't come out, she had to tell him, but she couldn't.

"Ollie, I-" she tried again then shook her head when nothing came out.

"It's okay," he whispered. "I know." His fingers gently stroked her face, then her hair as he pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "I know, Chloe."

Chloe lowered her hand to his chest, finding it wet, but she couldn't look down, she knew what was there.
