Oliver stepped off the elevator, raising his eyebrows as he moved into the main part of the room. "So what's the big emergency?" he asked.

"It's not an emergency," she told him once she turned to look at him then motioned to the couch, holding her breath a little, "but it's important and I need you to listen to me before you react to it."

He frowned a little. "Don't I usually?" he asked, studying her for a moment before slowly moving over to sit on the sofa.

Chloe didn't sit, she looked down at him and smiled slightly, nodding, "you do, but what I'm about to tell you will probably upset you, which is why I need you to be calm and listen to everything I have to say," she knew the mystery wasn't going to help, but she had to get it out there before anything else.

Oliver didn't like the sound of that at all. He leaned back against the sofa, arching an eyebrow as he waited for her to tell him whatever it was that she had to tell him. Although, really, after the conversation he'd had with Tess earlier that day, he was fairly certain nothing could shock him.

Chloe took a deep breath and nodded, watching him silently for a long moment, "I met with Zod." She told him quietly, standing directly in front of him and holding her breath was she waited for his direction.

That was more shocking.

"You...what?" He stared at her blankly.

"I met with him this afternoon, at a cafe," she admitted, shifting slightly, "he offered to explain his side of the story to me and as a former journalist, I felt like it was only far for me to give him the chance to."

He stared at her, silent. She'd met with Zod. Alone. After she'd seen for herself what their future could turn out like.

"I had to, Ollie," she told him quietly as she sat down next to him, his silence was probably worse than the anger she had been expecting, "he made a good point and I couldn't ignore and everything is fine and we might have a solution to our problems."

"He made a good point," he echoed, still staring at her blankly.

"About how we have been judging him over the Zod from the future, about how I had never spoken to him, never heard his reasoning for what he is planning on doing and while I know that if those towers go up, we're all dead, I also now know that he doesn't believe that will be the outcome," she paused, taking a deep breath, "but more importantly, I have found a compromise and if we can reach it, he will give up on building the towers altogether."
