Chloe had to admit she was nervous about this meeting. She didn't know what to expect, exactly since she had never met the man before. Which was the whole reason why she was there to begin with

More than anything, Zod is extremely curious. When he suggested they sit down and discuss his purpose, he fully expected to be accused of setting some sort of trap and for Chloe to refuse. But when she actually agreed to meet with him--with an open mind of all things--he found himself pleasantly surprised.
It isn't often that he gets a chance to explain himself, and he's actually quite eager to do so. He doesn't expect to necessarily get an ally out of it, but even if he can simply make himself understood, it will certainly help.
So, doing his best to open up his own mind, Zod makes his way into the cafe and scans the tables. It isn't long before he spots Chloe sitting in the booth, and he adopts a polite smile before stepping forward and nodding in greeting. "Miss Sullivan, I presume," he says pleasantly enough.
Chloe is determined to make an effort so as he approaches her table, she stands up and holds out her hand, "Major," she greets him, the best polite smile she can muster on her face.
Chloe slides back on her side of the booth and shakes her head, "I left early, you never know how traffic in Metropolis will be, no matter the time of the day."
Zod gives her a quick nod before motioning over a waitress and ordering a frappuccino. He never got to finish his first one, but he did very much enjoy it. He was just a little occupied at the time.
Once the waitress has scurried off, the Major returns his attention to Chloe and regards her in silence for a moment before speaking. "I appreciate your willingness to meet with me. We have a lot to discuss. I hardly know where to even begin."
Chloe smirks just slightly as he orders, it's not exactly what she would expect from Zod, a frappuccino, but again, she is there to learn as much as she can about him.
"You made a good point last night, we had never met before and I figured if we can understand each other, things just might get easier for everyone," She smiles slightly, wrapping her fingers around her mug, "begin from wherever you like, I'm sure we'll have questions for each other as we go."
"Right," he replies thoughtfully, nodding again. "Well, I suppose it's best to start at the beginning. You already know what I am and where I come from, but you may or may not be surprised to know that my arrival on this planet was no plan of mine at all." His gaze drifts down to the table as he pauses, considering for a moment.
"One moment my soldiers and I were on Krypton, and the next we were here. I've been just as bewildered about this whole thing as your people have, if not more so."
Pursing her lips together, Chloe nods, watching him as he speaks, "I heard about the crystal, I'm sure the transition has been a little more intense than just the culture shock for your people."
Clark didn't remember Krypton at all and he still felt like he didn't belong, she couldn't imagine being zapped through not only time but also planets like that.
