Snow . . . in April

Yes, I'm late in mentioning this. It snowed last weekend which is bad for flowers, fruit trees, etc. Dad did his best to protect his grapevines, but found damage on them the next day. So there probably won't be any apricots, they were in full bloom in March when it was in the 70s. There is some frost damage to my roses. Late freezes aren't fun this is where you lose those summer crops or everything gets shoved back a month. It's been in the 30s-50s this month when it should be in the 60s and maybe 70s. Maybe May will be better on the weather. . right now it feels like winter, kinda. -_-

The weekend before last I went shopping and bought a dress. I've been wanting a fun, summery dress since for a while now. Dresses are hard to find unless you go to J. C. Pennys or specialty shops. . the kind I don't frequent because you have make major plans to drive to them because they're a good 30-60 miles away. Wal-Mart doesn't carry decent dresses (decent /= knitty things that cling to every thing you don't want them to cling to). So, I went to Maurice's in Weatherford and found a neat little summery dress. It's white with black and green flowers, and it zips up. . a must for a dress. Unfortunately I needed the next size up, one of the ladies working there offered to special order it so I did that. And then I worried that it might not fit after all. >.> But I picked it up this last weekend and it did fit so yay! Unfortunately it's been to cold to wear it. I was thinking of wearing it for my belated birthday dinner this Saturday, but I think it might be too cold this weekend for that.

Was reading through Charlaine Harris's blog and was surprised and tickled to learn she liked some of the same writers I liked. In fact I'm half tempted to see if any other writers I like have blogs or something. I know Jim Butcher has an LJ and was skimming through Tanya Huff's LJ today. I haven't read any of her books yet. For anyone who doesn't know Charlaine Harris writes the Sookie Stackhouse books (aka Southern Vampire series), the Harper Tolliver books, Aurora Teagardan books and the Lily Bard books.

The internet has been iffy this week. Dad called tech support but Pioneer doesn't have 24/7 tech support just 9/5 or something tech support. The dispatcher didn't know a damn thing, I guess one isn't supposed to have internet problems after 5. So, if I'm not on that's one of the main reasons. The new router dad bought a month or so ago might have been part of the problem, so dad switched it back to the old one. So far it's been working.

Um. . . not much else going on here this week. Did some work on Josie's story, the beginning I posted that I wasn't happy with. I don't have much yet, but it's going better, she has personality now, which is good. Still not sure on when or how I should have her introduce herself.

snow, writing
