Well, yes, I did post on Wednesday that he had turned two, but today was his birthday party. Oh my goodness! It was quite the debacle.
For starters, we were going to have his birthday part at Caesarland, which is sort of like Chuck E. Cheese's. A pizza place (Little Caesar's) with a kids' play area, climbing structures, rides, video games, etc. Sebastian's little buddy is about 7 weeks older than him, and his birthday party was held there. I had called little Caesar's in October to reserve the date and time. And then, about two weeks after Sebastian's friend's party, his mom called me up and said 'did you know Caesarland closed?'
WTF?!?!? No, they didn't even call me. So I had to find a new place for the party.
We played around with a few ideas, but with a two-year-old, there's not alot that will hold their interest, you know? But we ended up having the party at a place called Jumpin' Jax. It's a bounce house with a large open area and five huge inflatable structures, and we had a party room where we could eat and open presents and stuff. All the kids had a great time, and my family was pretty happy with being able to hang out on the couches and have lunch.
It was a little on the pricey side, but for a birthday party, you know, it only comes once a year, and our house is too small to have everyone over. It was a very uncomfortable squeeze last year, plus there was nothing for the cousins to do.
Sebastian got A LOT of presents... I couldn't believe all the stuff he got! Lots of PJs, a couple really cute outfits, several dump trucks, a smash car, matchbox cars, play tools, and tub toys. Steve and I bought him a Wall-E dish set, which he absolutely adored. He carried it around all afternoon, it was very cute!
Now I have to go write out thank you cards... :D
