organizational tips?

My notes have always been relatively organized, but then I see my friend's binders and they look divine, as if a radiant light is emanating from the pages. I want to reform my organizational skills in general, for school and home.  That will be my goal over the summer: to better prepare myself for college life through organization.  Anyone have tips on how you keep things organized? I'm getting tired of organized chaos :/ And let's see how many times we can use a word with the root of organize! Organize, organized, organizing, organizational, organizer...
