Adoption day
Clark should have known Chloe would notice. She notices everything, he'd learned in the few months they'd known each other.
"Nice watch, Kent. Where'd you get it?"
"My dad got it for me, it's a present," he showed her the watch proudly.
She took his wrist and inspected it. "Present for what? Honor roll? Perfect attendence?" she pressed. "Can't be your birthday, 'cause you said that's in May." Chloe also remembered everything, too.
Clark hated being different. He hated all the million tiny things that made him weird. Nobody else in Smallville was adopted, and people always asked a bunch of dumb questions he couldn't or didn't want to answer. But something told him that she wouldn't. He figured it was as good a time as any to tell her. "Well, October 16th is my Adoption Day," he said quietly.
Chloe didn't miss a beat. "Excellent. When's the party?"
