Oh, just rambling since I never say anything anymore.

In case you were wondering, I have sparkly pink nails - my nieces will be jealous. I should be back in high school with these nails. Ha.

In other news, my nephew can pretty well say my name as of a month or two ago. Pretty darn cute. He drops the first consonant but that's understandable. It's not like saying Papa. Auntie Chlare is pretty long, yanno?

In an effort to avoid whining or lame navel gazing: I'm thankful for Castle and that it hasn't jumped the shark, as they say. I'm thankful that the weather is turning just a bit and it's starting to get cool at night. I'm thankful I had the means to get some nifty new shoes this weekend. I'm grateful my dad's hernia surgery went fine. Dad's birthday is this weekend which he hasn't been in town to celebrate in a long time so that'll be nice.

I'm continually amused by listening to books on tape when I always thought it was like...cheating or the easy way out of reading - am listening to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series right now which I probably would not have sat down and read otherwise. Just got a kick out of hearing the section where they're at Hoover Damn in book three since I was just there a few weeks ago with my parents and aunt and uncle. I will avoid talking about the rest of the trip to Vegas, but I /will/ say that Cirque du Soleil was awesome. We got to see two shows, Ka and Mystere.

Ka was AMAZING. Like knock your socks off. Any description is just not enough. It makes it sound hokey. But it was worth every penny. Mystere was very cute and silly and out there, but very fun. I would go again to either of them.

Got to ride the train - like real steam engine train - a week or two ago and at our destination - which I've driven through before but never gave it much of a look - had the most amazing Mexican food. It was unbelievable. I would go back just to eat there. It's so good. I had a BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, which had fresh corn, and super thinly carved chicken and a spicy pesto sauce? And there was a smoky, spicy sour cream... It was heaven, I'm telling you. I haven't tasted anything that fresh and good in a long time.

I'm sure there have been other things I've been meaning to talk about, but... Just haven't done it even though I've been keeping up with my flist (as much as I can without getting terribly spoiled.) *waves* Hope you're all doing well! Sweet dreams, my sweet peeps.
