Riddle me this, music video-philes

Is this common? To have two video versions of the same song?

I really never watched much in the way of music videos when I was growing up so I haven't a clue.

Here we have the adorable version with Alexis:

I've Got My Mind Set On You - George Harrison

And then the version I had seen at some point with the scary moving drawing room/study:

I've Got My Mind Set On You - George Harrison

Clearly one is an earlier version and George and/or his label thought the older one was too dated, but... Personally I like the earlier one. *ahem* As if this wouldn't be obvious.

ETA: Wiki seems to think they were made at the same time. And by the same producer. Interesting. The latter apparently was hotter on the VMA awards. ...So frakkin' weird. Yes, the Alexis version is totally literal and quite a bit campy, but... well, what can I say, I'm biased. ;P
