Food Review!

Oh. My. God.

I just made and eat the most delicious...thing to come out of my kitchen in a long time.

I'm sure plenty of you have gotten links in your gmail for 101cookbooks.com before. I certainly do, and awhile back, I started actually clicking on them. ...Wow. Talk about beautiful recipes. Heidi takes her own photos of the food she makes and then shares the recipe below. She has a book out which I'm surprisingly thinking about getting since I don't cook a ton - I have zero patience in the kitchen - but her recipes always look amazing if not a little crazy on the ingredients for those of us not living on top of a farmers' market. (But on that note, she always gives suggestions for alternatives or says what's okay to leave out if you can't find it)

So anyway, I tried one of her recipes finally. It's this pasta dish with vegetables. She calls it a Ravioli Pasta Salad, but DON'T LET THE NAME FOOL YOU! I hate pasta salads, potato salads, anything that's too much like cold mush with mayonnaise. This recipe? Beautiful asparagus, spinach, and peas tossed together with a cheese ravioli, pine nuts, and Parmesan. So simple, but so very good. Nothing to worry about spoiling, and it's wonderful hot, and I actually am intrigued to try it cold.

Really it's like veggies and ravioli so...it's not at all a pasta salad, I don't think. It's her own take on it. And I have to say, it's delicious. And easy enough for an amateur like me. Even with my over toasted pine nuts, it was excellent. I ate it right out of the bowl, I couldn't wait to try it.
