Drabble-ganza 3 - #1 Rachel/Sydney

Aug 27, 2007 22:30

I think... I think this is my first Alias fic to be posted. Not the first one I wrote, but the first one in this set of prompts. I know *nobody* on my flist reads Alias, but...screw you guys. :) In the best possible way, of course. ;) (I'm kinda hoping somebody will read it anyway...) This is some girl slash, and it's set kind of around the middle of the last season. So I suppose there might be spoilers, but not really in any big way. It's certainly set before I knew about a really big spoiler, so if you know, somebody who happens to know what I'm referring to comes along, please don't mention it in the comments. kthx. So, anyway. On to the girlslash. Oh, and in no way is this a drabble. :) So, yeah. Syd and Rachel in

Ring

The ring on Sydney’s finger glinted in the morning light.

“Do you miss him?”

“Every day,” Sydney murmured, sliding onto the couch with her mug, putting on a smile for Rachel.

“I appreciate you letting me stay here. It must be lonely,” she added with her own apologetic smile, looking down into her cup of tea.

“I’ve got Isabelle,” Sydney said, her smile lighting up the room.

“You already named her?” Rachel’s eyes glanced at the round curve of Sydney’s stomach.

“Yeah, Vaughn and I...in the hospital, before- before,” Sydney’s voice cracked again, and Rachel could see her fighting tears.

“Hey,” Rachel murmured, sliding closer, setting aside their tea and wrapping an arm around Sydney’s shoulders, tentatively placing one on Syd’s belly.

“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Sydney was quick to reassure, wiping away tears and mustering up one of her smiles that didn’t fool anyone who knew her for longer than a single op.

“It’s no problem, Syd,” Rachel pushed some of Syd’s hair back behind her ear. “I like hanging out with you and Isabelle,” Rachel smiled. “You don’t have to worry about me.” Sydney sniffed and looked up and then away, head leaning on Rachel’s shoulder without further protest.

Rachel rubbed her hand over Sydney’s belly soothingly. “Does she kick a lot? I bet she wishes she could join in on the missions already,” Rachel teased, wiping away another tear.

“Yeah, all the time,” Sydney looked up with a watery, grateful smile for the distraction. “She’s going to be feisty; a real tomboy, I know it,” Sydney added, hand reaching up to curl some of Rachel’s hair back behind her ear, eyes searching for something. Rachel smiled reassuringly and kissed her forehead.

“I’m sure she will, Syd. She’ll be beautiful and smart, just like her mom.”

Sydney pulled Rachel’s hand from her stomach and kissed the back of it. “Thank you, Rachel,” she said, looking back into warm, friendly eyes before tilting her chin up to softly brush her lips against Rachel’s.

“Sydney,” Rachel breathed before shifting towards Syd, hand moving up into Sydney’s hair, kissing her again. “Are you sure this is...? Can I...?”

“I am. I do. Will you?” Sydney’s hands covered both sides of Rachel’s face, keeping her close. “Please?”

“Of course,” she murmured, lips finding Sydney’s again, hand back on Sydney’s stomach, rubbing gently, moving up to cup one of Sydney’s very full breasts. “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to.”

“Me too,” Syd murmured, shifting towards Rachel as much as she could, arching into Rachel’s tiny palm. It was time to move on. Time to feel something else besides an empty longing, she thought as Rachel’s thumb flicked over her nipple and made her gasp. She wouldn’t forget. But for Isabelle, she would move on.

The next prompt is Hero

A/N: I'm just doing these for me. Whatever pairing strikes my fancy. Not givin' 'em out this time. Enjoy. :)
