“So you and Rube are doing the horizontal tango, eh?”
“What? We are not!” George crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow across the Wafflehaus table. Oh, Rube was going to get a swift kick if she found out he told Mason!
“Oh come on, you’re all googly-eyed when he comes ‘round now. You used to glare at the big ponce. He’s like your sugar daddy, isn’t he? You wanna quit that temp agency and live with Ruuuuuuube so you can make sweet love all day long. That’s why you haven’t been around the house lately!”
“No!” George protested, face flaming bright red. “I am not-”
“’Course you are. No need to hide it from me. We all need a little love, even if we’re dead,” Mason said, giving her more of a smile than a leer now. Okay, maybe Mason wasn’t totally devoid of a brain after all.
