Serenade
“What do you think, peanut?”
“I think you’re crazy, Rube. And would you stop fucking calling me that?” George punched him in the arm and rolled around under the sheets trying to get comfortable.
“We’re not doing that again,” she said with the barest amount of uncertainty, finally twisted up in the sheets.
“No, we’re not, pumpkin,” he murmured, pulling her close, kissing the top of her head.
“Okay,” she mumbled quietly, snuggling close.
It was weird. She shouldn’t have *wanted* to do that at all.
It was weirder that she didn’t think she’d mind if they did it again.
