He was sleeping in the back seat ...
Her Best Friend is back...and they slept so snuggly together, but here they are basking in the sun....
So I get a call around 930pm from some bilingual dude asking if I'm the one with a missing dog and explained in Spanish I think this guy has your dog....and he said he's been collecting all the fliers and says he has him for sure. So we get the cross street info....the man that had our dog for 4 days...was a homeless man who lived behind some bushes on a cardboard box near the ARCO station. He had been feeding him hamburgers. So before we go my father gave me reward money and we went on our merry way. I just kept thanking the higher ups because I asked for a miracle ...really didnt think in this big ugly city that he'd be found.. but we arrived at the station and sure enough it was him!!! As soon as we got off the car..he started bouncing up and down, licking, wagging, excited to see us. I'm just thinking wow...he used a passerby's cellphone to get a hold of me. It was the trust of this passerby and then the awesomeness of this homeless man that brought us together again and of course the passing of fliers to the gas stations and such. So anyways, we brought him back home and we reunited him and Leia and they were just circling each other with hype....my father came rushing out wanting to see him and fell to his knees pretty much asking him for forgiveness...Shorty stood back but when he asked If he'd forgive him? He jumped on him and started licking his face...it was pretty fuckin cool. He promised that he'll make it up to him and what he did was so stupid and the only home for him is here. It was surely a sight to see. I mean, I think he learned his lesson and it really ate at him because he hasnt been able to sleep nor eat since last week so this weekend we will get his shots and I'm filing the application to get his license literally right now...and I need to get him fixed =\ wowzers...but seeing a hard ass turn into gush was shocking....I'm just so happy he's back.
Edit: also I was reminded to mention that YES he is in good condition...just specks of oil on his fur...and still the happy little guy as always ...he doesnt seem traumatized or abused in any way... the homeless man took him in because he witness another dog get hit by a car months ago that he swore he would not allow that to happen should he see a stray or loose dog running around...so thats why he had Shorty even fashioned a piece of rope like a leash...
I also have to mention that I send many THANKS to Jason, Donna, Meaghan, Heather, and everyone else who has supported and helped in the ways you did....I'm really grateful to, even if its online, that I know you at all and are passionate about this as I am.
