Heh, to be honest I wasn't paying much attention to the case (I never do when I first watch with eng-subs off, I get way too lost with all the names and such. I am terrible with names, especially since here they'll alternatively use first and last names..). But HEE, yes. Their eye communication I just loved ♥
Oh, I generally don't care too much about the cases either. I'm all about the J/L. BUT, every so often they have an episode where I really feel the writers needed to make at least a token effort to pretend like *they* cared about the case.
I mean, obviously we all know the ep was really about Jane getting Lisbon's job back, but let's at least pretend we care about the crime procedural.
On the other hand, it completely justifies the convenient "Victim was killed by an ex-lover," that I use so often in fic when I have to include a case. So there is that.
I think in this case the trickier part was just to solve the case without the other people, and tricking them into something so they wouldn't bother the team or J/L while they solved the case.
Now that I think about it, there seems to be more lady-murderers in the show than guys. Or so are the ones that I remember lol
Oh, I understand why they did it. My point was more while I was watching it I literally thought. "Wow, didn't see that one coming. Victim was having an affair and killed because of it, at least in part. That is totally waht I do in fic."
There are a lot of female murderers. Not all, but definitely a lot. May be more than other shows, which is why it sticks out.
