SuJu Fic Challenge Theme:  005. Overworked
Summary: Yes, maybe he was just a little overworked.

Kibum unlocks the door to the Super Junior dorm, sighing while doing so. It’s another one of those nights where he had filmed late and is more tired then he had ever been tired before. Sometimes, he wonders if he had really picked the correct path for a career.

No…This is your dream. So don’t go doubting it only a few years into it, He thinks, reassuring himself. He feels bad that while all the other members are focused on only Super Junior, he is out doing some movie with a different family. Sometimes, he wonders what Leeteuk thinks every time he comes to his room in the morning only to find him already gone.  Kibum sighs.  Disappointment.  That's what Leeteuk would most likely feel.

Every day, when he’s not with Super Junior, guilt gnaws at him. The back of his mind is always consumed, enveloped by thoughts of how he isn’t doing anything to help the rest of Super Junior, and because he is a very serious person, he even takes that joke that goes, “Kim Kibum? Who is that?” seriously. He takes it to his heart, and he feels awful about it.

Just as he plops down on the couch, he notices the kitchen lights are on. Quirking an eyebrow, Kibum gets up tiredly again and heads towards the kitchen where he sees the Eternal Maknae cooking something over the stove. He glances towards the clock and notes how it’s almost four in the morning, and he also remembers the Ryeowook’s schedule had ended seven hours ago.

Usually, Ryeowook's schedules would end at around ten pm, no later.  “Umma’s orders” as Leeteuk had told Ryeowook’s manager. Of course, the manager had thought it was Ryeowook’s actual mother who had said that. Both Kibum and Ryeowook knew otherwise that Leeteuk was the “umma” here.

“Ryeowook hyung, what are you still doing up?” Kibum asks, and that’s when Ryeowook finally sees the other’s presence. Instead of answering, he just smiles and scoops whatever he was cooking out into a bowl. He also fetches a spoon and places both things in his hand on the table.

“You look overworked, Kibummie,” Ryeowook says and pulls a chair out for the other. Kibum stares at Ryeowook before he walks over and takes a seat, and that’s when he finally looks at the contents of the bowl.

“Seaweed soup?” He questions, and Ryeowook simply nods.

“Good night,” Before Kibum can say anything else, Ryeowook leaves the kitchen and heads towards the rooms. Kibum stares after Ryeowook, a smile unconsciously finding its way upon his face.

Yes, maybe he was just a little overworked. But he’s relieved to know that the members haven’t forgotten his existence completely.
