"Well, that question is less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way."

So,  apparently I'm the biggest dork in the world.  "Why is that?" you might ask, or if you know me well, "Niki, what did you do now?"

Well.... this is what I did.  Enjoy if you want, and also, share the love (and the link!)

...told you guys I was on a Futurama kick...

::EDIT:: Uh, ok, so I'm dumb and forgot to lock that post, so now you guys can't get to it.  On the plus side, you can have your very own shiny new link!  Whoop whoop whoop!

::EDIT...AGAIN:: So, I just realized that the "shiny new link" doesn't provide access to the cover or anything, so...screw it!  Have the whole damn post!

For those of you who’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, Futurama is a cartoon by Matt Groening, the man who created The Simpsons. It follows the life of Philip J. Fry, a twenty-something delivery boy who ends up getting cryogenically frozen on December 31, 1999. When he wakes up a thousand years later…well, suffice it to say that hijinks invariably ensue. Along with a foul-mouthed, alcoholic robot named Bender, the lovely-yet-easily-annoyed cyclops Leela, and a huge cast of awesome minor and cameo characters, Fry ventures into space and…is still a delivery boy. But in space!

Anyways, said FST focuses on the main cast and employees of Planet Express, as trying to make one soundtrack for all the characters who deserve to be on it would be MASSIVE, and picking and choosing would be way too hard. Also, just to warn you guys, while this does NOT contain spoilers for the new movie, Bender’s Big Score, it is quite silly. Just in case you care about that sort of thing.

Space Mountain - Disneyland OST
(instrumental)

“Welcome to the World of Tomorrow!”

The Future Soon - Jonathan Couton
…I know that I'll forget the look of pity in her face
When I'm living in my solar dome on a platform in space
Cause it's gonna be the future soon
And I won't always be this way
When the things that make me weak and strange get engineered away

This is Fry. Fry’s a pizza delivery boy living in New York in the year 1999, and his life kind of sucks. Also, he’s a loser. And kind of dumb. But things are totally going to be better soon!

30th Century Man - Scott Walker
And if you can't get that together
Here's the answer, here's the key
You can freeze like a 30 Century Man
Like a 30 Century Man

“It's the future! My parents, my coworkers, my girlfriend... I'll never see any of them again… Yahoo!”

Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
and don't it feel good!!

Fry’s life might suck, but he’s a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of guy. Also, he loves bad 80’s pop music. (Also, yes I know I’m totally cheating with this one, and I don’t care)

These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ - Nancy Sinatra
You keep samin' when you oughta be changin'.
Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet.
These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Leela, the trusty captain of the Planet Express ship, is about as responsible as it gets, and isn’t exactly afraid to kick her crew’s asses to get what she wants. Plus, she actually wears boots.

Serenade - Emiliana Torrini
For the dark finds ways of being
Engraved in the light
And the heart bears indentations
Of yesterdays hurting child

“I usually try to keep my sadness pent up inside where it can fester quietly as a mental illness.”

I am robot - The Phenomenauts
I build you cars.
Exploring Mars.
Maybe I’m not exactly flesh and bone.
I am a robot, leave me alone.

Bender is a robot, built with the express purpose of bending to make humans’ lives easier...which really didn’t work out for him. Instead, he ends up spending a lot of time on his ass watching tv.

I’m an Asshole - Dennis Leary
Maybe I shouldn't be singin' this song
Ranting and raving and carrying on
Maybe they're right when they tell me I'm wrong...
NAAAHHHHH!
I'm an asshole!

“Bite my shiny metal ass!”

One Foot in the Grave - Eric Idle
So I'm a-wrinkly, crinkly, set in my ways.
It's true my body as seen better days.
But give me half a chance and I can still misbehave.
One foot in the grave.

Professor Farnsworth: “Oh, I don't have time for this. I have to go and buy a single piece of fruit with a coupon and then return it, making people wait behind me while I complain!”

I’m Cute - Animaniacs
It's a chore
To be constantly cute
And enchanting to boot
When my lip's sticking out
In that cute little pout
Then there's just no doubt
Why the guys like to shout

Amy Wong is Planet Express’s cute-as-a-button intern. Only problem is, she likes to remind everyone about her cuteness. All the time.

Youth - Matisyahu
Young man, the power's in your hand
Slam your fist on the table and make your demand

Hermes: “I’m from Jamaica, the ‘show-me’ island, so show me you’re blowin’ it out your fanny!”

Chihuahua - DJ Bobo
Chihuahua here
Chihuahua there
Everybody wants it everywhere
Sing it loud
And life can be so easy
Chihuahua!

Now, you may be wondering to yourself, “What in the world does this song have to do with Dr. Zoidberg?”. To this, I ask you to remember two things: 1. Zoidberg is a desperate lobster who’ll eat anything, up to and including his coworkers, and 2. Nibbler looks a little like a small dog. Just sayin’…

One More Score - Jonathan Coulton and Adam Stein
You’re my second floor man
(I help you work the second floor)
You drive my get away van
(I keep a shotgun by the door)
Together we’ll see it through

Oh, Fry and Bender. Isn’t it magical when a human being and a robot get along, become friends, and start stealing shit?

The Promise - When In Rome
I'm sorry but I’m just thinking of the right words to say
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be
But if you wait around a while I'll make you fall for me
I promise, I promise you I will

Poor Fry. By the third season he’s pretty much completely in love with Leela, but she’ll have none of it, mostly due to the fact that he has the brain power of a 3rd grader. Give it time! (Whoo! More 80’s pop! Told you Fry liked it...)
::EDIT:: Ok, apparently Fry rubbed off on me, 'cause I totally mislabeled this one.  It'll pop up as Depeche Mode if you download it here or in the full zip, but it's actually by When In Rome.  Whoop Whoop Whoop!

Rocket Ride - Felix Da Housecat (feat. Devin Drazzle)
Spaced out kid, won't you take me on a rocket ride?
Don’t say no ‘cause I won’t be denied
You’re my boy and I’m your girl
Take me out of this messed up world

Ok, I’ll admit it: I’m a pretty big Fry/Leela fangirl. When she final gives in (because Fry is nothing if not persistent), I’m willing to bet they’ll have some fun with it. And come on; how awesome would a date on a spaceship be?

Space Mountain (Daytime Track) - Disneyland OST
(instrumental)

::See you on some other channel::

And just as a little added bonus:

Born to be a Bureaucrat - How Hermes Requisitioned His Beat Back

Robot Hell - Hell is Other Robots

And of course, what mix would be complete without the full zip?

Alright folks, that's it for me.  Hopefully this is the last time I need to edit this stupid post! If you like, leave any comments, concerns, or rants you might have.  Hope you enjoy, and see you next time, same robot time, same robot channel!

fangirl like the wind!, whoo illegal!, fsts are awesome
