PREVIEW SPRING ANIME 2016

Mar 30, 2016 08:28

wow yeah it's spring already and believe or not.. I'm posting this while I'm enjoying all the sakura matsuri happened right now (right somewhere in Kuwamoto, Japan hehe///). Though I admit it's sooo damn cold I quite frickin enjoying after busy finishing 2 internship in 3 consecutive months. And then I have a sudden trip to Japan because I have to visit my cousin & accompanying my aunt since I have a limited nihongo to help her. Japan has been crowded with many tourist lately so it's not surprise, now that I remind you I always thought I can only found anime stuff if I were in big cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. But turns out I found another animate shop in small town Oita, Kyushu. *BREATHES HEAVILY* so yeah. With the new upcoming anime appears, I found myself more dissatisfied as many idol genre pops out to be anime greenlit. My inner fangirl is quite dying since it's indeed anime may dying in the future so well IDGAF I will just care about manga "hoorayyy"

Though even so, doesn't mean that I didn't care about the upcoming spring anime since there's one sequel that I do really care plus some series that I can't dismiss easily. Despite of many pessimistic stuff towards the new anime, I want it to prove it wrong like when grimgar proved me wrong as worst anime. But let's hope the anime that I expect good to be really bad... *side-eyes at dimension W tbh*

Series that I expect to be 'I believe this can't be bad' Category
Basically I will watch it every week since having the high expectations.

Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Gensou LAST SONG

Superhuman Bureau employee Hitoyoshi Jirou (Ishikawa Kaito) discovered that his workplace wasn’t the benevolent organisation he had thought it was. Shadowy conspiracies are everywhere, fueled by the increasing Cold War paranoia of the day. And so Jirou breaks away from the Bureau, intent on creating a superhuman organisation of his very own.

there it is, THERE IT IS THE SEQUEL THAT I REALLY GIVE A DAMN. If you didn't know ConRevo was one of my favorite anime on last year and I actually didn't expect to have sequel. It has superhumans, aliens, time travelers, magical girls, kaijuu, robots, and anything that also involves politic themes around it. The setting it self takes where the Cold War still happens, and I feel like this going to be the continuation of conspiracy happened in latest season. While I may not care how the majority dislikes this series for how confusing episodic anime and chaotic, I found myself still relieved BONES decide to make the second season of this. In addition where I can listen one of my f there will be Masaki Tsuji and UROBUTCHER to contribute the script which means..... it can be awesome or who knows? this is seriously one of series that I believe I don't want to miss out for sure.

Joker Game

Taking place in the year 1937 on the eve of World War II, the story involves a mysterious spy training organization known as the "D Agency." The organization is established by Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki from the Imperial Japanese Army. His ideals lead him to recruit people beyond military academy graduates and personnel, while training them to become skilled agents in arts of manipulation. These agents would become a specialized team to conduct operations. One such antihero agent, under the name Jirou Gamou, goes on a harrowing mission to uncover secret documents titled "Black Notes," while battling forces from within and without his own ranks

I only heard a little about this series. First, it's based on the novel. Second, it's already adapted to movie starring Kamenashi Kazuya as main cast. And apparently the movie rating in japan went quite average which is may disappointing. But let's face it though I may believe that not all live-action movie went really good so It doesn't surprise me as much. What makes me have a high expectation toward this series was no other that the studio and the staff who handled this series. Also who can't resist with the great synopsis that taking right in WWII happened and the numerous bishies cast. While I'm not expecting Conrevo sequel, this is the only series I also most looking foward to. Though I know this kind of series will be better if I'm watching in one-marathon go rather than watch per episode every week.

Series that 'Decent route & expect the worse despite of potential' Category
The series that have more safe category.. since it has medium expectation will not disappoint me too much when it fails.

Boku no Hero Academia

People are not born equal, a realization that 4-year-old Midoriya Izuku faced when bullied by his classmates who had unique special powers. Izuku was one of the rare cases where he was born with absolutely no unique powers. This did not stop Izuku from pursuing his dream, a dream of becoming a great hero like the legendary All-Might. To become the great hero he hopelessly wants to become, he now will join the ranks of one of the highest rated "Hero Academies" in the country: Yueiko. With the help of his idol All-Might, will he be able to claim the ranks and become a true hero?

I have know the manga since last year I guess when some people I know from KnB fanbase jumped from World trigger to this series. The manga has reach it popularity really quick I guess despite it just started around last year??? though I'm sure I feel like it was too early to adapt this as anime greenlit. What's my biggest turn-on is because it has superhero genre, but biggest turn-off?? probably because it was because of JUMP series that I'm not really looking foward to (since I avoid large fanbase and JUMP right now has a bit downfall for the many series that currently in launched right now). Even so, I guess my optimism is quite big in this one since BONES handling this series. While maybe it will turns out as shounen-classic series, at least I believe it will gave the entertaintment ride.

Bungou Stray Dogs

Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They're tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved, it is clear that Atsushi's future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives!

Oh well... I never expect this series being handled by BONES at all (seems BONES going to be soo busy this year along with the "SHOW BY ROCK sequel"). Bungou is series that I've currently on hold reading because the manga has soooo slow pacing so I sometimes feel thrilled reading it but find it boring at the same time. (Despite I love all the characters, the problem just because pacing). Basically this involve around character named with popular japanese literature writer involve with supernatural powers from these detective agencies. I actually laughed so hard when I found out Star Driver/Ouran staff will handling this. But hey even I expect something bad... the seiyuu cast and animation at least somewhat promising. (I sense Mamo and Hosoyan will working together again). So I just hope it will tun out good when the already gave us with split 2-cour.

Gyakuten Saiban: Sono "Shinjitsu", Igi Ari!

A rookie lawyer Ryuuichi Naruhodou stands up to save his defendants by proving their innocence from unusual cases!
Is the defendant guilty or innocent...? Believing his client's innocence Naruhodou stands in court and battles his rival judges. With the word of "OBJECTION!" and limited evidence, Naruhodou makes a comeback when all odds are against him and seems like there is nothing more he can do. Don't miss out on the comical episodes between him and his mentor Chihiro Ayasato, assistant Mayoi Ayasato, rival prosecutor Reiji Mitsurugi, and numerous unique characters! The anime also depicts the childhood relationship between Naruhodou and his friends. With the skills inherited from his mentor Naruho reveals the truth!

THIS WAS SOO LATE WHY IT'S NOT ADAPTED LIKE PREVIOUS YEAR BEFOREE... goddammit I love this game. Like probably many other people who love this game and let me tell you my favorite is shitty Mitsurugi (aka. Edgeworth bc he's worth it ////) but let me be honest. As much as I love this game I will be sooo skeptical with game adaptation to anime. And heard that this is going to be comical episodes??? I don't think this anime will have so big potential and just went to really safe route. My only complain probably Kaji will voicing The Naruhodo-man (since I don't think it fits him). A-1 may be went decent with last season of BokuMachi & Grimgar and I wish they pull of more already instead of this. But let's see how this turns out.

Koutetsujou no Kanaberi

As the world is in the middle of an industrial revolution, a monster appears that cannot be defeated unless its heart, which is protected by a layer of iron, is pierced. By infecting humans with its bite, the monster can create aggressive and undead creatures known as Kabane. On the island Hinomoto, located in the far east, people have built stations to shelter themselves from these creatures. People access the station, as well as transport wares between them, with the help of a locomotive running on steam, called Hayajiro. Ikoma, a boy who lives in the Aragane station and helps to build Hayajiro, creates his own weapon called Tsuranukizutsu in order to defeat the creatures. One day, as he waits for an opportunity to use his weapon, he meets a girl named Mumei, who is excused from the mandatory Kabane inspection. During the night, Ikuma meets Mumei again as he sees Hayajiro going out of control. The staff on the locomotive has turned into the creatures. The station, now under attack by Kabane, is the opportunity Ikoma has been looking for.

I was eager to say that I'm always in Noitamina Train's hype... but when Snk/Guilty Crown staff happen to working on new noitamina anime, my hype train starts to slow down. It makes me feel conflicted and having meh feeling instead of excited for seeing it turns out. One can argue it really looks like SnK rip-off with zombies replacing the titan instead. I actually quite anticipated it because it has steampunk settings combined with the Japanese historical style. But Oh god all I just hope where I knew Hiroyuki Sawano handling the music to make the music feels everywhere, this doesn't going to trainwreck like Guilty Crown. And I was actually bring bags of laughter know Code Geass writer also work on this, So expect to be bad but doesn't mean expect to be so terrible either. Since I hav a bit faith on Noitamina with their awesome trailer at least give some decent ride.

Kuma Miko

The manga follows Machi, a middle school student who serves as a shrine maiden at a Shinto shrine and takes care of a bear, who lives on mountain in Japan's northern Tohoku region. The bear, Natsu, has the ability to talk and is Machi's guardian. When Machi explains to Natsu that she will attend a school in the city, he gives Machi a set of trials that she must pass in order to be able to survive city life.

Well this is not exactly about a PEDO-BEAR. WELL OR ONE MAY ARGUE that the bear is not cute but for me IT'S CUTE.. I have been so long waiting to watch this kind of anime again after Barakamon. First it may be look slice-of-life but this is like fucking bear happen speak likes a human. Though by reading the summary it's like everything can be possible, I expect this show to be cute and fun to watch. I have a really little doubt with Kinema Cirtus handling this since they used to handle barakamon before so I believe they will do the great job with this. And also, it has been a long time having middle-schooler girl as the main character of the anime which is refreshing.

Mayoiga

A shady bus tour of young men and women are headed to an elusive village called Nanakimura. A destination where people can partake in an utopian existence, free of the world's obstacles... or so goes the rumor. Heading deep into the mountains, the bus is carrying 30 different individuals, each harboring their own expectations and troubled hearts...

The synopsis about 30 Bus passengers arrived in uninhabitted villages? Well I expect there's going to have some thriller genres of the series. But since Mari Okada also handling this show, it'll be more focus on human drama instead. It's not like I'm going to ignore how big the story potential of this, but yet I'm just not really keen into Mari Okada's previous work. (Instead that I do find a bit liking when she did KokoSake Movie). I'm also having the problem with the director handling this series too, but it's conflicting where SHIROBAKO seems quite become one of his success role. Heard the rumors that the quality may have been same level as paranoia agent and Ghost Hound, It may be too harsh if I put this as meh category as I actually seems more interested in the synopsis already. So fine, staff just don't disappoint me with this one.

Sakamoto Desu ga?

First year high school student Sakamoto isn't just cool, he's the coolest! Almost immediately after starting school, he began attracting everyone's attention. The girls love him, and most of the boys resent him. There's even a boy in the class who works as a model, but who is constantly upstaged by Sakamoto! No matter what tricks the other boys try to play on him, Sakamoto always manages to foil them with ease and grace. Though Sakamoto may seem cool and aloof, he helps others when asked, such as in the case of the boy in his class who was being constantly bullied. No matter what difficulties Sakamoto encounters, he moves through his high school life with confidence and class.

Yes, I know DEEN. I know when I said hoping you to get better after Rakugou series but when you SUDDENLY ADAPT THIS SERIES IT JUST successfully throw myself out of window *in a good way*. I've been known this series based on manga. The story based around the weird human being had become perfect in sooo weird way that we found it dumb, but also hillarious. Many people liked him but many people also jealous of him, I was expecting something ridiculous that I can mock the characters, but in the end the content itself delberately mocking each of the characters which in the end become best comedy genre you will ever found. It's more like many WTF moment but then I guarantee to not ever miss this because of Hillarity. Just one more complain I never like Midorikawa Hikaru voice so kinda disappointed they had to role him as Sakamoto.

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge

Sighing, leaning on his elbows, sleepy eyes. Tanaka-kun is a boy that basically doesn't try but isn't disliked. This is a laid-back youth comedy about Tanaka-kun and the quiet Oota who can't leave him alone.

I found myself regret that when I found out this series adapted to be anime I was seriously give a meh impression. But after the cast announced (FUCK IT ONOKEN AND HOSOYAN TOGETHER MAKES ME WEAK FOR ME) I immediately check the manga and it turns out I feel like found one of my spirits animals. Yeah Tanaka-kun seriously my spirit animal. Though I was expecting the series to be boring, it turns out really slice of life comedy with a little feels from azumanga daioh. The previous staff before has handling Non Non Biyori which is also great. I feel like it's too shame to miss this out but at the same time I just hope I'm not turning into Tanaka-kun while I'm watching this...

Series that 'Ugh.. let's do 2-3 episodes rule' Category
The series I'm probably not fond into or don't looks promising, but still need to give a try by first impression.

Endride

Shun Asanaga is a 15-year-old junior high school student with an optimistic and bright personality. One day, he finds a mysterious crystal in the office of his father, who is a scientist and businessman. When he touches it, the world becomes distorted, and he is sent into the world of Endra. Emilio, a prince of the kingdom of Endra is nearing his 16th birthday and despises the reigning king Delzain. Since Emilio is now at the age when he can inherit the throne, he takes up a weapon and attempts revenge. However, because Emilio is too weak, he is captured by Delzain and put in prison. When Emilio is in grief, the wall of his cell becomes distorted and Shun appears from there with two goals: return to his own world, and complete his revenge. What future lies ahead for the two boys trying to survive in Endra, yet raised in two different worlds?

What can I judge from this series alone is I will never ever trust anime produced by BRAIN BASE. Or that's should I say. I will say it again and again I never interested with RPG settings. But when they give a good seiyuu cast, it's hard. My bias to OnoKen really tingling towards any series (now he's everywhere and even in a boring anime like Luck&Logic). I heard that this was Original anime so I hardly judge how will anime turns out. But the PV itself doesn't looks so interesting so it's hard for me to really keen watching this one. The staff doesn't really look promising either but let's see if this proven wrong like grimgar did.

Flying Witch

Kowata Makoto is an air head with a bad sense of direction that just moved into her relative's house... But is that all?

The reason why it get meh category just because how it seems have no direction synopsis and having some basic archetype of character that I may not really keen into. But I'm afraind to dismiss this one since it has some slice of life genre and having a main character with coming-of-age adventure experience. Since it's J.C Staff handling this, I've known the animation doesn't really impress me. I was expecting a lot that at least giving some Studio Ghibli vibe but I know it would never turn out that way. Still if this series focused on the story rather than pandering more character charms like Luck & Logic did, I will give this series a try.

Kiznaiver

The anime's setting is a fictional Japanese city named Sugomori City. One day, Noriko Sonosaki tells her classmate Katsuhira Agata, "You have been selected to be a Kiznaiver." The Kizuna System, which allows Katsuhira to share his wounds, connects him to the classmates whose lives and personalities completely differ from his. The Kizuna System is an incomplete system for the implementation of world peace that connects people through wounds. All those who are connected to this system are called Kiznaivers. When one Kiznaiver is wounded, the system divides and transmits the wound among the other Kiznaivers. Sugomori City is built on reclaimed land, but as the years go by, the city's population is decreasing. The story is set in this town where Katsuhira and the others live.

Basically I can put this on the decent show but I feel like the synopsis just thrown out the information too much which I don't feel like really watching and just felt "meh" at this point. At least I may dismiss this if I ignore the fact that Trigger make this original series, but seems like I didn't and was too ashamed to do that. It has sci-fi settings that somehow will suits my taste and there are some promising potential. But sadly I have to say my pessimistic weighed on this series more. While it probably looks neat, something may just look generics judging by it characters and can turns out out of place. so overall 50/50 if this can be good or either bad like how Glasslip turns out. But I hope the 1-2 episodes will blown away my impression toward this.

Kuromukuro

During the construction of the Kurobe Dam, an ancient artifact was discovered, and so the United Nations Kurobe Research Institute was established. Intellectuals from all over the world gathered to study the object, and the children of those researchers attend Mt. Tate International Senior High School, including the institute head's daughter, Yukina Shirahane. In the summer of 2016, a lone samurai once again awakens.

I'm not sure if I can trust P.A works again after how sloppy they handling HaruChika (and their previous works) because when that show has the potential, the directing and the art just kills everything. This series has no synopsis and whatsoever and showing the big robots based on the trailer alone. But heard that Tensai Okamura handling this series makes me quite keen to check out. Okay nevermind I type this during checking out the new synopsis came out, turns out it may turns interesting. So samurai awakens in sci-fi era??? not sure but I seriously hard to judge this out since my pessimistic toward P.A works also going so strong, I have better to check this out first rather judge this too early.

Super Lovers

While spending summer with his mother, Haru meets Ren, a boy newly adopted by his mother. Getting along with Ren isn't easy as Haru's goal is to "civilize" him by the time summer ends. Their relationship slowly improves as Haru spends more time with Ren and in return Ren steadily warms up to him. Can they really become a "family" at the end of summer?!

Okay I'll admit, even I do like BL but I never stand BL as anime. In fact, I found BL/Yaoi anime turns having ugly artwork and ridiculous (Love Stage, Junjou Romantica, and etc). Though it's stated as Shounen-ai instead of Yaoi. I can't help myself feel a little disgust while a different age gap between the couple make the elder one looks pedo (and moreover indirect incest???) Though I heard that this was also popular among female leader I can't help but still confused how it can happen. It doesn't really help when one of my favorite seiyuu have to be casted on this one and the young main cast voiced by female seiyuu (better if Murase Ayumu voicing him tbh). But if I can give this series a try, I just only hope this can change my preception towards generic yaoi anime.

Uchuu Patrol Luluco

The show takes place in Ogikubo, which is the name of the specially designated area in space in the Milky Way where Earthlings and aliens can live together. Luluco is a female middle school student who lives with her father, and no matter where she is, Luluco is a common, "super normal" girl. As she is living her normal life, one day the mysterious transfer student ΑΩ Nova abruptly appears before her. That meeting will change Luluco's fate.

Well this one was a short anime, but I don't think it's really worth to watch every week. Despite my interest because of studio trigger handling this, the director that well known as handling panty & stocking or Kill la Kill, and despite how the synopsis looks fun, I know that the potential will not so big and I may lost the interest quickly if 1 episodes had gave me boring ride. So I shall just gave this with low expectation depends on

so omg it has a lot of this list already!!! tho I'm pretty sure many of these will be dropped since I even hardly catch up my winter one. I also want to see kagewani series too but not so sure about that. Apparently summer series will be busier than ever so I'm just trying to keep the list toned down a bit...
