So we're in TN for the week, for G and L's wedding. It's on a Wednesday which is strange but has some kind of meaning for L. I only know it's a fairly inconvenient date for guests but I guess most folks aren't from out of town.
I am having to work while I'm here for a couple reasons 1) I'm not supposed to take vacation until I've been an employee for 6 months and that doesn't happen until August or Sept sometime. and 2) we're in the middle of another big customer data clean up project.
While I wish I had more time off, it hasn't been too bad so far. There is of course the pull of everyone wanting you to come and visit them, which seems inevitable. And the big news in B's family is that E and S and their 2 kids have moved home to TN, and they're living with B and E's mom. I can tolerate them in small doses only so I'm sort of avoiding Chuckey this week.
The wedding for G and L is out in BFE, near her hometown and the NC border, so the family is going out and spending the night there. I'm sort of anxious about this b/c there's drama within B's family over R's death and R's widow and R's mom. There's money involved and adultery and speculation on everything.....And it's no ones business but of course in a small town, it's EVERYONE's business. Reason #879 that I hate small towns. Or perhaps just Southern small towns, I don't know (my guess is that gossip and people being all up in other people's business is fairly common everywhere).
I went to a canning class last night with Mom and will go again tonight. It is a little different than the ones that I've taught in the past, they don't seem to have a big volunteer network here. But the lady is nice and knowledgeable and so far there is only 1 question I have to go back with to my group to get clarification. I'm actually pretty impressed.
We had a big surprise party for my sis on Sunday b/c Saturday was her birthday. It was a lot of fun, and she was actually surprised.
Ezrii dog is at the boarding/doggie play place for the week. She was excited to see everyone there, and went with them willingly but I heard her crying when I left. Which made me sad. I'm sure she got over it quickly once she met some dogs to play with.
We had a friend who's been living with us for awhile take us to the airport, and he had his 2 yr old daughter (who's also been staying with us recently) with him and even though we're not big on kids, she's pretty adorable and seems to love us. She cried when we left. It was cute/sad. She is very puzzling to Ezri. Ezri can't figure out where each of them stand in terms of the hierarchy and so she's a little pushy with her. And A gets overwhelmed, understandably, by this behaviour. They still haven't found a clear way to communicate with each other yet. They do play with the laser pointer together though, which is both hilarious and adorable. (They take turns going after it, while one of the adults is directing the laser pointer and the turn taking)
I'm not sure what other news we have to report...
