Fitz still doesn't know what to do with this place. He's solving this problem with extensive reading, trying to figure out what is happening, but it's not getting him anywhere. He's pacing back and forth in front of a table full of papers and books in the library, swearing quietly to himself and looking fiercer than normal. He's frustrated

Sugar is writing at a nearby table, and she'll look up from her novel - it's not as embarassing as the first, almost finished one, and she doesn't mind writing it in a public place.

"Something the matter, sir?"

He makes a face. "No, Lady, not the matter, merely frustrations with my research."

[crimson_sugar]

She gives him a patient smile, quill in hand, which she deposits dutifully into the ink pot.

"Then taking a small walk perhaps would ease your mind. Would it be very indiscreet to ask what you are researching?"

"No, not at all - I merely seek to learn more about this house, and what sort of place it is. Answers, however, are few."

[crimson_sugar]

Sugar chuckles, a bit amused, and puts her chin in her hands.

"There's not much I could tell you, in truth. I only arrived here a few months gone. But maybe the more ancient residents could help you?"

"I know not how to find them, I think."

[crimson_sugar]

Sugar smiles. "You could always put up a notice on the board, in the lounge. It helped me find someone I sought, recently."

[chivsbastard]

"Ah?" Not quite curious.

[crimson_sugar]

"Yes, you see, a note on a wall, stating your inquiry. You might be surprised what or who turns up."

[chivsbastard]

"I see." A pause. "I suppose I should introduce myself, Lady."

[crimson_sugar]

"Perhaps it would be good, good sir." She stands, bobs a Victorian curtsy.

[chivsbastard]

He bows. "Tom Badgerlock."

[crimson_sugar]

She curtsies. "Miss Sugar."

[chivsbastard]

"A pleasure to meet you."

[crimson_sugar]

"Likewise, sir. I suppose you've only just arrived?"

[chivsbastard]

"But a month or two ago."
