It seems I have another announcement to make.

Learned Eirin will not be taking request chip requests at this time. There is a correlation between getting the chip removed, and a great illness that potentially kills the patient. She would have made this announcement herself, but she is currently busy. Any questions you may have I will try and ( Read more... )

Two people have died from illness due to chip removal. She was unable to save one. This is Learned Eirin herself has deduced. Based on the data she's correct. But, where she does not want anyone to die by her hand, I am willing to let people take such a gamble if they so wish it. It's their decision after all.

I won't argue with that choice, but... Two people...

It's a noble decision, and I respect her very much for her compassion. Perhaps she will find the answer she's looking for.

I meant your choice, too... [...] Do you know what is causing the deaths?

More like those who are desperate enough to make that choice themselves.

No, I do know they get sicker than people normally do after a removal. Most likely caused by infection. No medication effects it and they soon deteriorate until they experience organ failure. It could be some sort of bacteria that is currently in the air due to the recent environmental activities.

If that's what it is, then it's not only people getting their chips out that should worry.

No, anyone with a deep wound should be careful. Though, right now we have been able to relate two chip removals to death. There has been no data on wounded getting sick and dying right now.
