Even though...
Even though this story is tragic and horrible - accentuating man's ability to inflict pain and terror on an innocent being, there is something about Dahlia and how she acts that has given me hope for my own life. Things sometimes seem so bad and so pointless, but really, it isn't if you get down to brass tacks. There is always one thing that can be found that brings you up, that makes everything seem better, that gives hope.
With everything that has been happening in my life, I look at this little puppy and see her actively seeking love and cuddles from humans. Humans did terrible things to her and no one would blame her if she was hateful, frightened, aggressive, hesitant, but no. She runs with a wiggly butt to accept love from a human. She calmly allows people to look at her injuries, to poke and prod where the cruelty of man has deformed her and changed her life forever.
