Forgive my absence yesterday as it was my first day back to school for the winter semester after a nice month-long break. So weird to be back!

I take my cues today from the artist whose blog inspired me to start keeping a daily paint-blog. You can see Carol Marine's blog here (she's really good!)
Through this activity I'm finally finding myself

Thank you Sarah for taking the time to comment, it really lightened my spirits this evening to hear from you. I understand jealousy all too well, having felt it a lot in my life too. I don't know, but when I turned 30 (God, that's so weird to be saying) a few weeks ago I really started to feel a new-found urgency to get off my duff and do something, which also entailed my lowering my standards and trying to go easier on myself-- which is definitely not an easy thing to do. But you know, I started getting into it and I'm seeing that my work ain't half bad-- outside of school that is. I probably am learning a lot in there, it's just hard to really see it when you have some teacher breathing down your neck and you have all this performance anxiety. I think the best thing is just to shut your eyes and go forth regardless of the results-- heck, aim to be bad, make mistakes on purpose and just the enjoy the process. It gets easier once you can shake off the hang-ups, believe me. I hope you do manage to get back into the creative swing of things, especially if it makes you happy. But thank you again for being so kind, it's stuff like that that keeps me going! *hugs*
