acrylic study

It's been a couple of weeks since school ended and I've been struggling with keeping my art muscles. Fearing complete atrophy I forced myself to draw/paint anything! I bought some small 5x7" boards from the dollar store and painted this. Maybe I'll continue making a few small paintings just to keep active.

Have to say once again how happy I am

Thanks once again Dave! Your support means a lot to me. I have to maintain a level of humility though because as evidenced by my first attempt with acrylics I did not start out this good and in this circumstance I think I owe some of my teachers a debt of gratitude for teaching me techniques I didn't know before. I think their guidance helped a lot. I wish more of my classes had been like that :)

I love apples and I love the paint, so I set it as a desktop.

Wow, there's a huge different between the two paintings! The first one looks like a painting, but the second looks like food. Juicy and tasty!

Thanks Erin! I think what pleases me most is seeing the progress I've made from that first painting 2 years ago. I remember being quite proud of that original apple at the time ;)
