In this place, some conflicts aren't mine to engage in. This world--this world of second chances--isn't on my shoulders. I want to continue to look forward.

But if you hurt Riku, I will not hesitate.

Hn. If Diva does not wish it, then I see no particular reason to cause harm to the boy otherwise.

And what if she does?

Are you still so naive, Saya, as to require an answer to that question?

How can you say you're doing the best you can for Diva by letting her do anything she wants, no matter how destructive it is to everyone? Joel taught me that there are rules to living. Indulging her doesn't mean you're giving her the best she deserves. Unquestioningly obeying her doesn't make you a good Chevalier.

Diva's wishes are my own. If she is happy, then that is all that I am concerned with. There is only one that I answer to, and it is not Joel.

Your words fall upon deaf ears, Saya. For nearly 200 years, I have been at Diva's side. I have served to her every desire, as a Chevalier should. They are there to serve their Queen, to ensure that all is well with her above all else.

Tell me. Can you name one, perhaps two incidents in which Haji has not done what you have asked of him?

Her happiness? Really?

If you feel that you have any problems regarding my statements, Nathan, then we can discuss them in person. They do not need to be broadcast over this network.

Haji and I made a promise in the beginning. I wanted to erase everything--even myself--and put an end to all Chiroptera forever. I went all the way to the end, fully expecting to die. But when that time came, he refused. I was never surer of his love for me than at that moment.

All is not well with Diva.

A touching story. I'm quite sure that it will make a delightful movie on one of those channels that women watch when they feel it necessary to cry.

Have you any proof? Or is this just one of your baseless 'feelings'?

I've heard about your experiments, Amshel. We were the same back in those days--we were both ignorant and innocent. We didn't know what anything meant. And you-- How dare you?

If she had been taught to live a normal life, it wouldn't have been like this. I wouldn't have had to kill her. But by always obeying her, you couldn't stop her from putting herself in danger.

How very delightful that you have. Then it will save me the effort of having to explain them to you. I hardly have the patience to do so at the present time.

How dare I? Yes, how dare I, one of the only people to show Diva any compassion over those many years. How dare I, the only one to supply her with that which she might need to survive. You know as well as I do, back then, I would have likely been hunted down and killed by hired hitmen in the night if I were to sabotage Joel's experiment.

If the first Joel had taught her to live a normal life, yes, that may very well be true. You have the legacy of Joel to thank for Diva, Saya, not myself. The sixth works so dilligently to undo what the first has done. And regardless of what may have happened in your time, whereever you're from, she is alive and well here.

Nathan told me back then that all Diva wanted was a family.

...A lot has changed. I don't think all the things I used to think. So--I want her to have a second chance, too. But that can't happen if I'm the only one trying. And if people are hurt because of her...

Diva's blood has lost its power over me. She can't kill me.

...Please keep that in mind.
