* The Skeleton Key - Lame. I knew it would be lame (PG-13 horror is rarely ever good) but I remember hearing about some alleged twist ending and that will usually make me want to watch something. I love a puzzle I can work out, I love it when I don't see the ending coming (very rare, only has happened twice) or when I only figure it out at the last minute. Usually when twist endings get mentioned in advertisements and reviews that means that someone put at least a little thought and originality into the ending; not this time. You're going to have to do a lot better than that to pull one over on me. Or one anyone who has seen more than two ghost stories for that matter.
* The Hills Have Eyes (remake) - Awful movie. Awful, awful movie. I never thought I'd like it and I don't really know why I watched it except that it was three in the morning and it was on. There was somebody that recommended this to me and things like this tend to happen a lot, very few people actually take the time learn what my tastes are (Dominic is one, he's very good at predicting what I'll enjoy), most just go, "Well, its violent so she'll like it." Though I've seen much worse movies than this on such recommendations, like The People Under the Stairs or as I like to call it "ninety minutes of my life I'll never get back." I grew bored with this movie very quickly and just left it to play while I focused most of my attention on the computer, only looked up every now and then to see some of the more violent scenes. The people I was talking to about this movie told me it was really horrible, exceptionally violent and gory and described certain scenes as being very disturbing; all I can think now is they either saw an unrated version of the movie where these scenes were greatly extended (possible, watch R rated Dead Alive verses unrated Dead Alive, it can make a huge difference) or they haven't watched enough horror movies to know what horrible and disturbing really is. Give me about three months and I think I'll forget I ever saw this, it wasn't even awful enough to be memorable.
