Writer's Block: Deal or No Deal

Mar 07, 2009 05:08

Not a bad one, and its interesting to see other people's answers, so here are a few of my own, in no particular order-

* The usual no liars, no cheats, and you abuse me at your peril. Shouldn't need to be said.
* Wants children/has children
* Doesn't like cats/likes dogs
* No sense of humor, no ability to laugh at yourself
* Not monogamous (I have no issue with polyamoury - I take issue with some of the attitudes in that community, but not with the concept in and of itself - its just not the way I am wired)
* Extroverted (extroverts in general have a hard time respecting my boundaries, which I understand since it is foreign to them, also I would think someone socially minded and someone not socially minded just want radically different things out of life)
* Overly sensitive and emotional (I am not an emotional person, and its not something I handle very well, for better or worse)
* Too materialistic
* Vain and shallow
* Too feminine
* Too conventional (I prefer some originality in people, not those who have lost themselves to the group mind; and I live a rather unconventional life that I'm not willing to give up, you'd have to be a little nuts to want to come with me)
*Snobby (I grew up around snobs, and I have no patience for it; and I don't just mean rich snobs, but arthouse snobs, more progressive than thou snobs, there are all kinds and they are all insufferable)
* Doesn't understand and/or respect my religious devotion (and that is a lot to understand, I'm honestly not sure that I could be with someone who isn't at in at least a somewhat similar boat as me)
* Too dependent (I prefer someone as independent as I am at least)
* Cares too much what others think of you
* Wants to change me (I wasted enough of my life with such people, no more)
* Loves humanity (no, you don't need to be the same raging misanthrope that I am, just have a little spark of realistic people hatred; hell anyone that loves humanity that much probably wouldn't be able to stand me long anyway)
* People who make one single thing the seat of your identity (you know those types, like the I'm gay/a woman/my race/whatever first and everything else second; its not a mindset I understand and frankly I prefer someone a little more complex than that).

There are plenty others (I'm not easy to get along with, I don't pretend otherwise), but its a good enough start.

writer's block, lj
