Is it just me, or is the sun shining just a little bit brighter?
Piss off, Bush. Never been so happy to see a politician leave office.
It tickles me to know you will likely be remembered as one of the worst presidents we've ever had, a title you so richly deserve. I always knew you'd go down in flames, pity though you had to take the rest of the country down with you (but then again large portions of the country did vote for you, voted for you the first time even though everything about you screamed out in warning to me, even more inexplicably voted for you a second time like anything was going to change; that half of the country I suppose got exactly what it deserved).
I've said before, I don't worship Obama the way some people do, people who already have him not only as the greatest president ever but the most fantastic human being to ever have been born. Nobody can live up to the expectations that have been piled on his shoulders even if we were all living under the best of circumstances, which we're not. He has a huge mess to clean up, and there are no easy solutions here. Whatever reservations I may have, I will give him a chance to actually do something before I pass judgment on him.
Whatever else, we do know he will be a better president than Bush. But then again, as I've said before (including yesterday on a friend's journal), we could have elected a paper bag full of dog shit with a little drawn smiley face on it and it would have been a better president than Bush, probably a more eloquent one, too.
