I was scrolling around through the On Demand menu, and I found the preview for The Midnight Meat Train is out. Looks good so far, answers my questions about how they plan to take a rather simple short story and turn it into a full length film. Japanese director, that's promising. The lead actor is one of those guys I know I've seen somewhere but I can't think of where right now. It looks like it could work, and I'm choosing to be hopeful right now.
Release date not yet set, sometime in 2008. So I'll have something to look forward to.
After this, perhaps I should begin a campaign for someone to make a movie out of Dread, which was my favorite Clive Barker short story. That one I think would work well on screen, and with the horror fan community's latest obsession with so called torture porn it should make plenty of money right now (even if the torture is strictly psychological rather than physical, its still fairly brutal).
