OMG. YAY! After 3.5 months of waiting, somebody finally scanlated the next chapter of Goong.
So, the show and the manwha end differently, and the manwha is still going. In the TV show, things are a bit more condensed, and while the royal couple of Shin and Chaeguyng is challenged, they make it through and end up staying together and letting Shin's sister (who's unique to the show) take the throne. Yul and his conniving mother (both ousted from the royal family 15 years ago or so due to weird royal family rules).
In the manwha, the drama is way bigger--Yul blackmails the queen (Shin's mother) into forcing Shin and Chaegyung to get divorced. Neither wants to, but they also have their reasons for acquiesing. Yul's been playing on Chaegyung's post-divorce depression, trying to get her to fall in love with him, and Shin's about to announce an engagement to Hyo-rin (his original girlfiend) out of necessity.
BUT!! Somehow the dumbass king (who actually was originally in love with Yul's mother, and she left him because she wanted to be queen, and so married his older brother) FINALLY figured out about the blackmail and confronts Yul. And Chaeguyng overhears it.
As soon as the king leaves (he wants to reinstate Chaegyung as crown princess and Yul states he will steal the throne if the king tries), Chaegyung walks in and confronts Yul.
She slaps the fuck out of him. (So awesome!) The dialogue isn't necessarily all that different from what you'd expect, but it's nice to see her actually angry and active and not just passively depressed. And Yul, that little bastard--even as sympathetic as he is--finally gets told off for the truly terrible hypocrisy of the way he treats her. And he can only sit there and look pathetic.
OMG I want the next chapter so badly. Goong drama is so tasty.
