So it's been a crazy week!
100th Annual Harvest Festival; I love the throw back to the YA book here and the Henry Small part of s2. Honestly they could probably go even older, that SV is not a new town. It's kind of adorable. I love the mix-and-match plaid. Also I still love how they go back and forth on who is the older sibling this whole episode (and they make it much more believable than ED and AM ever have, IMO) and it just is really enjoyable. Kara notices that Jimmy also like primary colors, and thus imprints an immediate crush. lol. I love her freaked out heat vision look too, half turned on, half "WTF is wrong with my body!"
I didn't think the timecapsule itself is that bad, but 1907? A little late for a western style robbery guys.
Can't Act Models with Color Coordination get out of the car. Eh, I think Kara's still prettier. And Clark's looks right before credits? Perfection. Perfect. I love their siblingness. I love it, it's perfect.
New Amazing Credits!
Clark in the barn, redoing Labyrinth. Including Shelby barking when Lana appears. There is no words in this scene, and it's the first tip off of what a hack job is happening in the editting department. Remember when this show was 5 minutes longer, on average about 3 scene more? Yeah? Remember how much better it was? Arg. Kara and Shelby don't get along! I don't know why I find that hilarious, but I do, especially as Clark still loves and trusts his doggie.
Behind Nell's flowershop: Pink Girl is talking to her "sweetie" about how she's going to go rouge from the group and how she's going to run away to Cabo. Then she gets super frozen by Female Sean Kelvin (who was much, much more interesting.)
We skip to the farm and Clark is now dressed like Bo Kent (remember how they used to vary the double up shirts for Clark vs Jonathan?). Lana gives the most freaked out look at Kara and I think her xenophobia is probably going to come to light over this season; also she's totally jealous at first. One of the secrets of hers this season I'm sure is that. She's already playing the Lionel card, and the embezling under the table... Lana's not a nice girl. That's fine by me, she's more interesting when evil. Also funny? Kara's bikini is plaid. "And this is... NOT covered! Look, can you just go change please. ...NOW." Such a brother who is embarassed. SO much. Tom has sisters right? Cause I think I can tell by his interactions that he knows this backwards and forwards. Laura really very good, too.
Melon! Clark is like both of his fathers, which is cute. And Clark's super artistic skills come to light. I love also Kara's little hand wave off too. Once Clark gets doused he totally does the older sibling "Okay! I'm in charge, so LISTEN NOW! You had a chance! Look at me! I win!" Does it work? No. Clark pouts at a plan gone awry.
Kara at the Talon, and she's actually very cute in this scene. I love that they casted her. FreezeGirl admits she tosted PinkGirl. The girls Kara wanted to fit in with are mean, and I honestly did want to give her a hug here. Of course, then she sees DeadPinkGirl.
LuthorCorp: Oh Lex. MR is on fire. So much. Brainiac is Carter, I swear. Lex knew about the ship! Brainiac was like "I knew it Lex!" lol. Throwing down the gauntlet - that phraze sounds familiar. Nice play on Lex turning Brainiac onto Kara.
DP: Jimmy has a photo of a man in blue with a cape/towel, and a guy in red with a duckie. Hello Clark and Lex! Jimmy comes bearing gifts and the kind she likes - stories. Grant the Plant walks in with a Luthorian purple tie and talks about Edlo and her Judas Priest obsession. He also calls her L (like Elle Lane? Worth thinking about) and is his normal obnoxious self. However, I find Chloe and Jimmy's reactions to him hilarious. "Chloester." Aaron's impression I rewatched like 5 times, it's SO funny. And a Stapler to the Bakc of the Head. Heh. (PinkGirl is an IcePrincess. Interesting.) Chloe works the stories of substance while Grant promotes his would be girlfriend. Chloe takes Jimmy's bate and it's away to Smallville we go.
Kent Farm: Boring of boringness. Lana definately seems to be only okay with Clark here, and her whole "your parents trusted you" he gives her this look of "you don't know what your talking about." Big note that Clark doesn't know Lana, dun dun duhhhhhh.
Talon: The lamest dance sequence I've ever seen. Jimmy canvases the room looking at everyone. FreezeGirl wants to do the job and leave, GreenGirl wants to stick to the plan and notes that they need a distraction. GreenGirl seems to be in charge telling FreezeGirl whom to kill and when. Jimmy calls PinkGirl an Ice Queen (she just got promoted!). Kara saves the day awesomely and FreezeGirl sees it.
Lana is pretty dang evil (and did all the apples remind anyone else of Adam and Eve?) with the money stealing. That said wow sparks with Lex here too. I still think Lex is buttering her up (he still obviously cares about her) and this was one of the better scenes. Lana feels justified, and Lex once again cleans up on her; can one imagine the amount of blackmail on her? (Lana is making but hasn't yet finished, her pie.) Lex making the baby? rings SO false honestly. Lex is still training Lana here and it's wonderful; and honestly Lana, who needs 10 MILLION to escape, Dr. Evil? And Lana just confirmed about Kara. Nice.
Nice parallel of the two couples at the hospital too. Clark kind of sucks at being a brother. Exposition, exposition; girls who knew each other since childhood turn on each other over the grand prize and are after something bigger. "It's twistedly brilliant. Who would ever suspect vapid eye candy as white trash cat burlars?" Tell us how you really feel, Chloe. lol. The treassure is enough to "kill your best friend over" and "anyone else." Hmm.
Talon: Our brief look at her Zatanna costume (I bet there is a mother load of deleted scenes for this ep). GreenGirl starts the initiation. "I'm sorry I was harsh on you, that was before I knew you were special." Kara's in. The cat burglars get double crossed. Clark shows up the pagent (with a cut out Chloe) and then gets arrested.
So the girls were:
PinkGirl/IcePrincess/IceQueen (powers unknown): Carly
FreezeGirl/PurpleGirl: Taylor Crenshaw
GreenGirl: Tempest Drake
Just for future refrence.
Lex is bonding with Brainiac. It's cute. I think by this point he's figured out about Kara and now is like "New Alien Iz Mine!" And THIS SCENE is made of win. Why? Lex COMPLETELY sees himself as Seigeth - willing to do bad things to stop the aliens from hurting anyone else. It's brilliant and wonderful and I LOVE it. And it would be great if this is how they keep building up Lex's political career. It started by taking on Lionel's military contracts, and running for Senate, and now teaming up with the "insiders."
Kara's a queen. It's also cute.
The new sherriff is also horrible.
Kara is in jail. Kara tries to bust out (and how mom and dadish are Clark and Chloe here too her?). Trust issues within the El family, but I still love them. And in true family form no matter the crisis, they can't stay mad at each other. Chloe has to cool Clark down, and keeps working on the information.
Clark goes to confront the girls and continuity error here with the Kryptonite and Kara's heat vision (1) it should go to black K, and (2) it should REFRACT like Whisper! Kara saves the day and it's cute and I'm fastforwarding cause I've got to go see "Across the Universe" in half an hour....
Which failed. LOL. Okay picking up where I left off:
Kara joins the Talon, they set up a new plot to resolve with the other Kryptonian on Earth; LuthorCorp! Lex gets confirmation it's Kara from his new hip second in command.
Talon: Wow Jimmy just pulled a Lana.
Fair: Clana is creeeeepy. Especially when you think about the song in the background claiming Lana has LOST HER SOUL.
And we cut to the MOST AWESOME SCENE, Kara vs. Lex. Uhm I can't sum up the chemistry or the plot awesome. Watch the scene. Cause right now this just fills me with SQUEEEEEEEEEE. Slumber, Pilot, refrences. Wonderful. And Lex has lost his soul too. WHEEE.
Now off to find Cure's torrent.
