I wonder how much the original will go on Ebay for when it comes out?

Thanks for the comment. I'm honestly glad that people can understand that there's more to race than the black versus white dynamic that seems to predominate racial discussion here in the United States. I was actually honestly pretty surprised that people weren't aware that racism didn't have to involve white people at all, since it seems to be a pretty narrow view of the world, but I'm glad that people learned from my comments, which was my intention. I guess it makes sense, in history we don't really focus on the immigration of other minority groups such as Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican people. High school history classes go over Japanese internment camps in a few lines of text and either omit or gloss over racism towards Asian Americans in the 20th century. I never heard of the Korean "comfort women" until my sophomore year of college, I hate to say, but I guess mainstream education doesn't cover stuff like that.

As for the whole debate mess? I still despise the term "people of color" and how people are saying, "But a "person of color" invented it!" Way to listen to those who have been opressed through out history and way to completely overlook what I was trying to say. I want to post about this there, but I don't know if it's worth the comment storm that is bound to show up.

I still have to post something on how to really post about topics about "people of color", because whereas the new rules are a guiding start, I still see a lot of crap in that community that says that Islam is a mysogynistic religion, how Latino culture is inherently sexist, and basically stuff that implies how the East needs to become more "progressive" like the West. Blech.

But I do have hope, as you said, because it's great to see that new understanding is possible. The community has made me be more careful about my own classist thoughts and thoughts that may have been heterocentric, so I'm hoping that once I have the energy to stomach the backlash of what I'm going to post, that some people will understand.
