"PAIR SKATE."
The loudspeaker sure was...loud. Tachibana winced at the metallic drone, and winced again as "Xanadu" cranked up on the ice rink loudspeaker.
Couples started to push their way out onto the floor, and Tachibana felt Chitose's hand in his, tugging.
"Oh no. No fucking way."
"Now Kippei, I paid good money to get us in here," Chitose's mild voice chided, "we've got to skate all we can!"
So far, skating consisted of trying not to fall on his ass while the ice had entirely different things in mind. Chitose, on the other hand, had all the grace of something tall and stork-like on the ice, meaning that he could glide around on one foot looking ridiculous, but somehow kept upright.
Tachibana hated him for that, just a little. "Not gonna. Isn't it time to catch the train?"
Suddenly he was up off the bench and rocketed out onto the ice. Before Tachibana could flail or fall, strong arms caught him and pulled him into a perfect pirouette.
"Senri, you idiot," Tachibana hissed, "I'm not the fucking girl." Yet, he was. Without really wanting to, he was pulled into a swift pair skate that somehow turned him backward, forward, and all around. He ended up in a high lift over Chitose's head that sent his head spinning and his nerves racing.
By the end of the song, Tachibana was embarrassed, panting, and exhilarated, and all the mothers and little girls in the rink were applauding and cheering.
"You fucker," Tachibana gritted out at his flushed and smiling companion when he was deposited back onto his bench.
"You enjoyed that, didn't you, my little ice angel," Chitose chuckled, stretching his arms. "But you're no Dorothy Hamill. Damn, my arms are tired. Ow -- that was my head. Why are you always hitting me back there?"
"Because you totally deserve it."

Later, feet up, hot cocoa in his hands, Tachibana admitted to himself that had there been no audience, it would've been fun to do that with Chitose.
"Wanna do it again next week?" Chitose asked casually, studying his expression with a strangely knowing look.
"No!" Tachibana stopped and considered. "...Can we get in after hours?"
Chitose grinned. "I'll see what I can do."
