Pickin' up the pace

So in about 30 minutes I'm leaving for my first class of the fall semester. Woohoo. I've been up for 5 hours already though because I had my practicum observations. I figured though I could take this time to revisit this past week with all of my loyal readers out there.

Last week was possibly the best week I've had in a long, long time. I started my practicum observations at a local middle school. At first I was skeptical, but after being there for a little while everyone was having so much fun (myself included) that I just was getting more and more excited about student teaching and whatnot. Also beginning last week was Vanderbilt's Band Camp, meaning the start of my newest job - the "Grad. Ass." (Hooray for humorous abbreviations). Its been a really fun job because I'm at band without all of the same responsibilities, but with (a tiny bit) more authority. The homecoming show officially seems to be my lovechild because I've done all of the music for it and will be doing drill as well.

My social life... Well, it's not been much better, but that's just because after each day last week I wanted to just go to bed at 9pm. That's how exhausted I was. I've gotta work on getting my energy levels back up. Hopefully things will turn around this week and I'll start making friends and plans. In other news, band camp also made me lose weight and adjust my eating habits (unintentionally). Basically, due to budget cuts and increased membership, food became scarce during band camp and so I just was eating less. Now my appetite is down most of the time. Sweet.

Well, my housemates just left (they're walking) meaning I should probably start packing things up. Here's to the first day of classes and a new semester!

Adios.
