Withholding feelings from someone close to you might make you feel uncomfortable, but each time you push up against the edge of expression, you tend to be overwhelmed with fear. It feels like you'll never get over your wall of isolation when you slip back into your place of safety. Don't waste energy judging yourself too harshly. Just keep returning to that place where the anxiety mounts. Surprisingly, one of these times you'll slip past your own resistance and share what you've been hiding.
