Strange thoughts
I find it ironic that my parents communicate to my sister and myself by yelling a lot and with a lot of over-exaggeration (usually from accross the house and on different floors), while my sister and I communicate through text messages and IM's even when we are just in the next room. Their range is limited to the house, ours across as far as our laptops and cell phones reach.
