So, to be totally nerdy in an entirely Shauna way, I have been reading more and I got through another book today. Thankfully it was much shorter than the Robert Jordan book. It was by Mercedes Lackey and was a part of the series that started with "The Fairy Godmother." The series is actually really good and has a great concept behind it. It's concept is that there is a force called the Tradition behind what typically happens in fairy tales. Think about it. Everyone can usually tell the direction a fairy tale is going based on what is happening. For instance, if a champion knight saves a princess from a dragon, the princess and knight will fall in love and probably save some sort of kingdom. In these books, the Tradition is a force that sort of pushes people down that Traditional path and if you do things right you can manipulate the Tradition to get its power behind you. I don't know how well I explained it, but the concept is really fascinating. You should all go read it. Seriously. It is cool.
On another note, I had a really good evening with Chris. We went out to get coffee, then went to The Artful Dodger where cool techno-ish music was playing and ate a little food. We also were really nerdy and grabbed a book from the shelf in the corner to read for a few minutes. We picked up "A Thousand Hour Day" which was about some general in what might have been Poland who had apparently fought against some sort of coup against the government and lost an arm. It was actually really interesting, which surprised me. It had a couple really cool lines in it that I shall have to remember and maybe print out and stick on my door. Anyway, we only read a few pages, but I want to read more. Maybe I'll check it out from the library sometime.
All right, enough nerdiness for the night. I will go find something else to do. Night!
