You'd think such a confusing situation would be mentioned on CNN.com or other major news sites.

Not journalism. conservative thinktank. Story hasn't been picked up on ANY other major newswire...nor any of the stories on their sidebar. It's bunk. plain and simple.

Well I could tell it was somewhat biased from the language in the article right off the bat, and when I googled the grandmother's name I came up with only very right wing sites featuring the exact same article credited to the same author. I can speculate on your reasons for why it is not appearing on major news sites, but given the current atmosphere and the gravity of the mistakes made in the situation in the article, I think it would have appeared by now outside of that one article. I don't say this to refute that if such a situation is occurring, as painted by the article, that it is certainly unfortunate, but to point out that the article itself, in its context is not as reliable as I expect my news to be. I would say the same thing of articles printed on liberal news sites, which is why I don't read them even though I tend towards liberal goals in general. I read CNN.com, news put out by the scientific journal Nature, and www.newscientist.com, another reputable science journal.

P.S. I also occasionally read news from reliable British sources to get a non-American perspective.
