Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

And thus ends 2010.

Ten years ago, I was still at Centenary College. I didn't have a clue I'd be married to such a wonderful person as cmmunchkin, be a United States Navy Sailor, have deployed to Iraq, have a running sponsorship, and be well on my way to being a registered nurse hoping to get a job with newborns.

Running wise, I ran 1,236.5 miles and spent 168 hours, 31 minutes, and 36 seconds doing it. December 31st was my 672nd consecutive day of my running streak. I'm pretty amazed that my body has let me do that. I ran 19 races this year. Five of them were half marathons. I PR'd twice in the half marathon this year, the first time breaking 1:30 and the second time getting down to 1:25. The highlight of running this year was to be accepted again to the Brooks Inspire Daily Program as a P.A.C.E. (Performance and Coaching Elite) team member.

I also made it through two more semesters of nursing school. This past fall semester was the toughest semester of all four semesters. I made the worst GPA of my nursing career, but I made it. We lost some people in the spring and the fall semester. Fortunately, I was not one of them. Despite my not so great semester, I was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Very cool to be in the top 35% of my class. Looking forward to finishing strong in this last semester of nursing school.

This year, I also fell in love with yoga. Why I didn't figure out how much I love this a long time, I'll never know. But I'm thankful that I was introduced to it this year. It's definitely become a regular part of my life.

Looking forward to what 2011 will bring. Especially since it's the last full year we'll have since the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. :)

Be safe.
