(no subject)
Ok, so my parents have been trying to figure out what to get me as a graduation present for a while now. They keep asking but i don't really confirm anything. For a while i hinted at a new car but i dont really care if they get it for me or not. I really want to go on a vacation. I don't care where, just anywhere outside of Irvine and Riverside, away from all the responsibilities and same people. I'm not saying that i don't enjoy the same people, but i need to meet new people and get away for a little bit. Going somewhere in Latin America would be great, but I can go anytime it doesn't have to be right when i graduate.
So... they have suggested:
1. (my dad likes this one) Take a trip to Peru or Cuba for a couple of weeks with both parents. Pretty much all expenses would be paid by them but i have to do all the research and find the best deals.
2. (my mom likes this one) Get a new car. They would haggle to get me the better deal (my dad is great at getting really good deals). They would make the down payment of somewhere between $3k or $5k depending on the car and how much they have available and i continue payments.
If i take (1) , i would keep my old car and eventually buy myself a new one, once i saved enough and felt comfortable with payments and stuff and well this can take a while. If i take the second one, I will have a new car, be making small paments (my parents are willing to help with the payments when i cant make them) and i could go on a short trip here in the U.S. My aunt had already suggested paying for a round trip to Chicago so that I can take her daughter to see her grandma. All i would have to do is drop her off and pick her up again when we need to come back. I can do whatever i wish during the in between time.
I can't decide, so help me decide. My parents want to know soon so that they can start saving appropriately.
